I currently have 450cc and have had multiple issues with them being too big and causing synnastia, I'm looking at getting revision and due to my circumstances I believe my revision fees should be covered. I want to go down to 300-325 and have more natural looking boobs. Based on my photos will I need a lift? I want to avoid getting a lift as much as possible UNLESS my surgeon can cover the fee. Also do surgeons offer free lift for a revision if he made them too big and need smaller impants
Answer: Downsize Your photos do not indicate that a lift would be needed when you downsize the implants. There is no standard protocol for how revisions and the associated fees are handled. They are up to each individual surgeon, however I would think it would be rare for a surgeon to cover a lift when exchanging larger implants for smaller ones.

Answer: Implants I agree with going smaller. Many times a lift can be avoided with a decrease of 100 cc's by doing internal tightening of the pocket. You will have to discuss fees with your surgeon. You are choosing a second surgery which requires supplies, OR times and anesthesia, plus your surgeon's time.

Answer: Revision surgery Dear Jade0, breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the corrective surgery. Many patients come in to correct poor outcomes from their initial surgeries. The most common problems are due to implant malposition, bottoming out of the implant, poor scarring, and incorrect implant size. While the type of revision required will depend on the result of the previous surgery and the desired result of the patient, some revisions involve extensive pocket repair that may or may not need specialized external bras.If you are considering breast surgery revision, you should speak with a board certified plastic surgeon and have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Also, you have to make sure that your surgeon understands your breast augmentation goals. Answer: Revision breast surgery Every surgeon has their own revision policies. While it is not uncommon for surgeons to repair a symmastia free of charge, downsizing implants are rarely included. A breast lift, which you do not require, would almost never be part of a revision breast surgery. Dr. Taranow
