Will this help my turkey neck? (Photo)

Question

I am a 55 year old female. I have lost approx 90 lbs so far and have 40 more to go to get to my goal. I should be very happy. But I have this hanging 1.5 inch lose neck flesh in the middle area of my neck and it makes me so self conscious. I can't afford and am afraid of getting a face lift but I would consider the thread lift. Would a thread lift actually give me the results I would need? I know it is only temporary but would it be able to lift this 1.5 x 1.5 inch area that I hate?

It's And I totally empathize with your concerns regarding the excess skin on your neck. Given the degree of sagging, I’d advise against investing your time (and money) in thread lifts. Instead, a neck lift, or potentially a combination of a facelift and a neck lift, would offer a much more effective and long-lasting solution to address your concern. Please consider an in-person consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon who has extensive experience in performing neck lifts. Congratulations on the weight loss.  I am sure you are looking and feeling great.  I would not suggest pursuing threat lifting to address your neck.  It will be expensive and not at all effective, nor will the results last.  You are a surgical candidate and when you can get up the nerve (understandable) and finances for a face and neck lift, find a good surgeon and you will not regret your decision.

Hello, hope you are well. Thank you for posting the question and photo. Unfortunately, thread lifting is not appropriate for your anatomy. The excess skin needs to be reduced ("hemmed" in my tailoring analogy) for it to fit the contour of your neck. The only way to achieve this is with a neck and lower facelift. Moreover, if threads are placed under the skin, they can cause issues with any future neck surgery.

Congratulations on your  130 pound weight loss once you get to your goal weight.  Since you are 55 years old, and having had a significant deflation in your neck, you're going to need a lower face and neck lift procedure to properly rejuvenate this area.

As seen in posted photo you need surgical intervention for the amount of excess skin under chin. Threading is very short lasting with very minimal improvements. Plus Threading fees are easily over $5,000! Best to consider full open neck lift, fee $12,000. Or might offer direct skin excision but risks of a scar. that fee $5,000. Best to virtual consult with....
