I’m 31 and 5’4” weight about 128lbs. Will 700cc be too much? (photo)

Hi there, thank you for your question. Implant size is determined by a couple different factors such as anatomy of the breast, diameter of the breast, nipple to crease distance. By the pictures you provided the implant size looks like it would not fit. I would recommend seeing a board certified plastic surgeon in person to get an in person evaluation.

700 cc may be your desired fill volume, but we need to know more...we need to know the base width of the specific implant and the diameter of your breast...see below...
Determining the “perfect” breast size before a planned breast augmentation is quite a difficult task. Each individual has a different concept of “normal” breast size. In addition, there is no standardization of bra size in the manufacturing  industry. One company’s “C” is another company’s “D”.

There are various ways to determine desired breast size. Bringing in “wish pix” to demonstrate to your surgeon will make him / her aware of your anticipated goals.  Placing an implant in a bra gives an extremely rough idea of anticipated breast size. One may estimate volume by adding rice to a baggie ( 1 cc 1 ml) and adding the volume to your breast beneath a bra. Some surgeons offer computer imaging.

The most important measurement is the base width of the implant. If you drop a vertical line from the medial most and lateral most aspects of the breast, and measure the distance between them, this suggests a base width. If an implant is too narrow, you will not have adequate cleavage. If wider than the base width, you will have excessive cleavage and “lateral boob”.  The fill of the implant then determines the amount of forward projection. I recommend you visit an implant website (e.g. Mentor, Allergan, etc.), as they will list base widths, fill options, and projections for each implant size they offer.

I recommend a thorough discussion with your plastic surgeon to ensure that you are both on the same page.

You need a formal evaluation by a licensed plastic surgeon and expert in breast augmentations to determine what is best for you and your goals.
Proper breast enlargement is not a "cookie-cutter" procedure where the same technique is applied to every patient. Every woman who comes to my practice has unique needs and different goals for her breast augmentation. I also take into account their overall height and weight, the size and shape of the underlying chest and ribcage, the tightness and elasticity of the skin, and the amount of natural breast tissue. Hello!From your photo it does not look like you have deflation or lax tissues- though it is better to see you in person with your arms down. 700cc sounds like a high volume for you, considering your petite frame. I would recommend you visit again with your surgeon to discuss your size goals. You should be measured with actual implants or virtually with a computer program so you will understand your outcome. Make sure you see a board certified plastic surgeon. Best of luck.

At size 34, each 100 cc of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change.  You will not be able to fit 700 cc implants behind your pectoralis major muscle.  The other problem is that your breasts are already low on the chest wall.  Implants that large will not be submuscular but be subcutaneous and will descend even further.  More importantly, you need a lift and I recommend a lift with possible fat transfers.  The technique I use is The Bellesoma Method.  This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage.  Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation and the ability to breast feed are maintained.  At the same time or later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.  Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

One cannot answer your question without knowing what you want your breasts to look like. From your photos, you appear to have only limited breast tissue and body fat. While you can accomodate a 700cc implant, it may result in a very round operated looking breast. If you have accurately communicated your desired result, trust your surgeon to select the correct implant for you. 

I am not sure where to start but this is a huge implant for your frame and will likely need revision surgery fairly soon due to complications. Unless you want to look freakishly large you should find a board certified plastic surgeon who can educate you better on sizes. Good Luck and update us please.

In general, a 700 cc implant will only fit the largest of chest walls.  Even with a higher profile implant, an implant that size will appear under the armpit or too far out to the side in most women.  Tall women with larger frames and broader chest, shoulders, and hips can often handle larger implants that would make smaller women's chests look overcrowded and heavier.  At your pre-op consultation, take with you a tailored blouse, tight sweater, bikini, workout clothes, and other garments you typically wear so you can try on 700cc implant sizers in front of a mirror to help you to get the best idea of whether the garments fit as desired with the implant selected.  Choosing an implant based on an aesthetic goal that exceeds your anatomic capacity may lead to complications and possibly revision. 

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph.  Based on appearances alone a 700cc implant would be too large for your frame and starting tissue position.  You would run in to too many possible complications to risk placement.  Talk to your surgeon further, or seek second opinions about your specific aesthetic desires.

Breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.
