I got a syringe of lip filler and loved my results. I went back a year later for a “touch up” and hated it so I got them dissolved. 6 months later I got more filler and hated it also so I got it dissolved. Now I feel like my lips look crazy and the injector said I have no filler left but I have this crazy line above my lip. She said my lips are compromised from filling and dissolving but now I don’t know what to do. I cry every day and I am scared to get more filler and make the issue worse.
Answer: It is likely that you injector did not use enough hyaluronidase enzyme to remove the filler treatment. The other possibility is that you were not actually treated with a hyaluronic acid filler. Many injectors use runny fillers when doing lip treatment. This product tends to spread out. My experience is that you might requires one or two enzyme treatments where the dose is 150 units of hyaluronidase at each session. I recommend you get your records to determine how much enzyme you actually were injected with. If the amount of enzyme is not recorded in your records, you should be skeptical about the dose you received.

Answer: Don't hate your lips Thank you for your question and photos. I 'm sorry you are going through this but sometimes the answer is to be patient.I hope you went to the same injector who injected you to have them dissolved. It is as much of an art to dissolve filler if not harder than to actually inject. How many times did you dissolve? Did they spot dissolve or just flooded your lips with dissolving enzyme? It also would be helpful to see your very very original lip before anything was ever injected. In the meantime, your lips are beautifully full and the shape is gorgeous. I assume you don't like the shadow/shelving of the top lip border. In that case, the last thing you want to do is to add more filler. You can either wait it out or just carefully dissolving the border. This needs to be expertly done for sure. Please make sure your injector is knowledgable in doing this as it could lead to lip shape issues. As an alternative, you can consider lasers like RF micro needling, Ultherapy or Fraxel to try and treat around the lips and help metabolize filler faster.Hope this helps. Have a beautiful day, Dr.Anna Avaliani, NYC

Answer: Filler Dissolve It appears as though there is filler outside of the lip boarder and that the dissolving wasn't done thoroughly. Often times, dissolving filler can take several sessions. It is also important to wait 2-3 weeks before refilling the lips.

Answer: Lip filler I encourage you to visit with another expert injector for an in person evaluation. It appears there may be filler still present. It may be best to avoid further injections until you have resolution to your concerns.

Answer: Go to someone else Hi! I'm sorry this is happening to you. It looks to me like you definitely still have filler in there. It's possible not enough was dissolved. I would maybe consult with another injector to get their opinion and make sure they feel the lips because usually you can feel filler left behind. It also depends on what kind of filler you got in the first place - hopefully it was dissolvable filler!!!! - because if you had a different kind of filler placed there that doesn't respond to dissolving agent, the dissolver won't work.
