Is MiraDry safe while pregnant?

MiraDry® is FDA cleared for eliminating underarm sweat, but has not been studied for safety in pregnant or breast feeding women.  The procedure is non-invasive and requires minimal to zero downtime in terms of recovery.I cannot recommend this procedure while you're pregnant or breastfeeding.

There are no studies determining safety of laser treatments to unborn fetus, therefore we do not treat until after delivery, and even after breast feeding completion. Thank you for your question. I would recommend that you wait until your pregnancy and breast-feeding is complete before you entertain a miraDry procedure.

I would not recommend MiraDry while pregnant.  Hormones during pregnancy can make you prone to hyperpigmentation.  Although miraDry is
getting a lot of attention recently, it has actually been around for a while.
It has been extensively studied and there is no cancer association. The FDA has
cleared it for safe use as well. The microwave energy only penetrates
4-5mm in depth and heats up and destroys the sweat and odor glands. The energy
does not reach lymph nodes or deeper structures. I have had the procedure done

Hi and thank you for your question! We don't recommend treatments such as miraDry while pregnant. We administer medications to numb the area, and these are contraindicated during pregnancy. After delivery and breastfeeding are done, its a wonderful treatment to consider. miraDry also just received and FDA indication for colorless hair removal! 70% reduction of hair of all colors!
