We generally do not advise pregnant patients to undergo any cosmetic or elective procedures until after childbirth. I would encourage you to wait. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
MiraDry® is FDA cleared for eliminating underarm sweat, but has not been studied for safety in pregnant or breast feeding women. The procedure is non-invasive and requires minimal to zero downtime in terms of recovery.I cannot recommend this procedure while you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
@jacobsgirl143Generally, it is not advised to undergo any cosmetic procedures while pregnant. There are no studies determining safety of laser treatments to unborn fetus, therefore we do not treat until after delivery, and even after breast feeding completion. I hope this is helpful.#pregnanyandlasertreatments #miraDrylaser #underarmsweat
Thank you for your question. I would recommend that you wait until your pregnancy and breast-feeding is complete before you entertain a miraDry procedure.
I would not recommend MiraDry while pregnant. Hormones during pregnancy can make you prone to hyperpigmentation. Although miraDry isgetting a lot of attention recently, it has actually been around for a while. It has been extensively studied and there is no cancer association. The FDA hascleared it for safe use as well. The microwave energy only penetrates4-5mm in depth and heats up and destroys the sweat and odor glands. The energydoes not reach lymph nodes or deeper structures. I have had the procedure donemyself and it has truly been a gift. Let us know if we can help in any way after your pregnancy.
MiraDry is a reliable and safe non invasive procedure to immediately and permanently eliminate sweat glands, odor glands, and 70% of underarm hair of any color! To allow patients to feel minimal discomfort during the procedure we numb the area with medicines that cannot be used during pregnancy and nursing. Enjoy your pregnancy and when your able come in for a consultation so that you can better understand if this treatment is right for you. Good Luck
I would not have any elective procedures done during pregnancy, the side effects are unknown and are not work the risk.

We do not recommend MiraDry or any other elective cosmeticprocedures during pregnancy. It is better to wait until later to consider these treatments.
Hi and thank you for your question! We don't recommend treatments such as miraDry while pregnant. We administer medications to numb the area, and these are contraindicated during pregnancy. After delivery and breastfeeding are done, its a wonderful treatment to consider. miraDry also just received and FDA indication for colorless hair removal! 70% reduction of hair of all colors! A great added side effect, in addition to eliminating sweat and odor! Feel free to call our office for information, our Nurse Practitioner, Jennifer Tinelli can answer all of your questions or set up a complementary consultation. Thank you!
Thank you for your question. I often recommend that you wait a few days before you resume normal activities. It is OK to go to the gym really soon afterwards, however you will feel like your armpits are more bloated and hot. After a few days, you can go back to normal exercise at a graduated pace.
Thank you for your question. At this time, MiraDry is only FDA approved for axillary sweating (underarm sweating). Best regards, Dr. Aldo:-)
There are 20% of miradry patients that return for a second miradry treatment. Usually in these cases, the injured sweat glands were not destroyed and were repaired over time instead.
