Lumps under arms haven't gone away after miradry procedure. Should I be concerned/worried?

After the MiraDry procedure you will notice a reduction or elimination in your underarm sweat and odor and reduction in underarm hair.  Immediately post procedure you may have some swelling and numbness which is normal.  We recommend an anti-inflammatory, ice and an antibiotic ointment.  In my practice, we also offer manual lymphatic drainage massage which we saw decreased the amount of swelling our patients experience.  Lumps and soreness after the treatment are normal.  Daily massage and stretching will help as well as Vitamin B12 which will help with nerve regeneration.  For up to two weeks post procedure it is important to: avoid shaving until the tenderness has subsided, avoid deodorant or antiperspirant and wear loose tops.

Lumps in the underarms can occur after MiraDry. Most resolve within a couple weeks but some may linger. I would suggest gentle heat with massage and stretching of the area first. If they do not resolve contact your MiraDry provider.

Thanks for your question.  Lumpiness, swelling and bruising may occur after a MiraDry treatment.  Each individual is different, but it may take 6-8 weeks for this to resolve, and may be helped by gentle massage of the underarm area. swelling, minor bruising and tenderness of the underarms, which should subside
within a couple of weeks. We recommend avoiding strenuous activity requiring
your arms until your symptoms have resolved.My lumps took about 6-8 weeks to resolve and became better each month.It takes time but see you doctor for follow up

Thank you for your question and for sharing your concerns.  miraDry can cause lumps from the inflammation and swelling that occurs after the treatment.  I would recommend gentle massage to and time to allow for the lumps to subside.  I would also revisit your provider if you are concerned and the lumps persist.

I had the procedure done myself about 5 weeks ago.  My bumps have just resolved.  I found that massage helped break them up.  

To my knowledge and in my experience, all cases of lumps/soreness eventually resolve.  The average time is 3-4 wks, but some people take longer to heal.  We instruct patients to continue icing for 10 min every 3-4 hours and to take ibuprofen, or other anti-inflammatory medication, as needed.

We warn all our patients about the possibility of swelling following miraDry. The swelling is part of the inflammatory reaction in response to the injury to the sweat glands and other dermal structures. The good news is that will gradually settle with time.
