I had a tummy tuck, Vaser Lipo and breast uplift and implants nearly three weeks ago. As the swelling reduces I can feel fluid in my tummy when I move when I take my body garment off for a shower. I’m already doing lymphmatic massage but this is worrying me. How can I get rid of the fluid and is it normal?

Answer: Seroma Dear crazysu,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: I can feel water and fluid inside my tummy around my tummy tuck scar and above? How can I get rid of it and is it normal? Thank you for sharing your excellent question and photographs. If there is a discrete fluid collection that can be felt or seen then the best treatment is typically to have it drained by your surgeon with a needle and syringe in the office. If the fluid sound is related more to tissue swelling, then this typically resolves spontaneously given enough time. Hope this helps.
