2 weeks post op tummy tuck and still experiencing stress incontinence. Is it possible that I may get some relief from this?

I had loose skin, diastasis recti, constant low back pain and urinary stress incontinence but I had a tummy tuck 14 weeks ago and I’ve had no more back pain(!), good muscle repair and no more excess skin. However I still have the stress incontinence and it’s actually somewhat worse after surgery. I’m in very good physical condition. Is it possible that I may still get some relief from this yet or no? I did have a catheter for 2 days post surgery, would that affect my incontinence still?

You must acknowledge that after a Tummy Tuck and muscle repair the intrabdominal pressure will be higher and that will cause expected bladder “compression”. So it is normal you feel the incontinence worst. It will be better over the months but it will not improve in comparison with your preop condition. Maybe your Urogynecologist may help adding some meds to improve the bladder muscle tightening. Be encouraged Dr. Cárdenas
