Hi, can somebody please tell me what is considered an acceptable hba1c for a breast augmentation? I have got mine down to 7.4% is this classed as too high? I am hoping to get it done next month.

Answer: A1C and breast augmentation In our practice we like a patient's A1C to be at 7. I would discuss this with your board certified plastic surgeon.

Answer: Augmentation In my practice, your Hemoglobin A1C needs to be 7 or lower. Above 7, you are still having elevated blood sugars which may interfere with healing and make you more prone to infection. I would suggest discussing this with your medical physician. also, surgery is stress and you may run even higher blood sugars than normal.
