Can areolas always look smaller for e.g. when it's cold and your areola gets smaller and breasts appear to be tighter? (Photo)

Hi Monique. This can be a challenging problem to address. The areola size often stretches more after augmentation. You will likely require another areolar reduction at the same time. If your surgeon thinks its suitable a permanent suture can be used as a purse string for a few weeks to stop the areola stretching while the wounds are healing. You should discuss this with your surgeon.

Implants can give you more fullness. Putting in implants mimics the milk of pregnancy as far as stretching the size of the areola back to the pregnancy fullness size. When the milk disappears the illusion is that the areolas got smaller, but they didn't. You surgically had the areolas reduced a fact which should minimize the increase of their size when the implants are placed.

If you are happy with your size, then consider a lift and revise the areolae to be smaller. If you want implants, you still may need a lift as well. I would suggest meeting with a board certified plastic surgeon and discussing your concerns and options.
