Hi, Avana Bunker. Achieving the perfect size following BA is one of the most difficult feats. And so many factors are at play -- tissue quality and thickness; existing breast volume; the skin's tightness, looseness, or excess; the breast's shape, the breast's length; the breast's width; breast position; nipple position; presence of sagging; placement of the implant under or over the muscle; the implant profile and type; intra-operative or post-operative complications; development of constrictions or contracture during the hesling phase; etc., to name a few. I cannot comment on the appropriateness of the implant size or style without benefit of photographs, measurements, and physical exam. But generally, dropping of the implants will not make the implants appear larger, unless the implants are being constricted and compressed in their elevated position. Also, generally, the breasts appear larger early after surgery due to swelling, and they will appear smaller as the swelling subsides. This change can also be a source of concern and possible dissatisfaction for patients. I call it the "OMG! I'm not going to be this big, am I?......Oh, no! I've decided I like them now -- they're not going to get smaller are they?" Whether the implants settle or not will also depend on many variables, including the breast and skin characteristics before surgery, the surgical technique, the healing response following surgery, and the care of the implants following surgery. While patients may not want the implant to "drop," and it is possible for the implants to drop excessively and compromise the results, implant settling is usually desireable and will help ensure that the implant stays softer, mobile, and more natural looking, as well as reducing difficulties obtaining future mammograms. Realizing your final result from a BA takes many months. Best of luck, and I hope your final results end up being to your satisfaction!
