Chin implant size & style - is this size correct & will it change the front of my face? (Photos)

I value clear communication from our patients regarding their concerns and desires before discussing chin implant and under chin liposuction options. Typically, I determine the size of the chin implant based on a physical examination since each patient has unique facial features and aesthetic preferences. The small-sized chin implant shown to you is usually designed for subtle enhancement and may be suitable for achieving a more feminine appearance. I usually use different size and shape for male and female patients. Additionally, under chin liposuction is often performed to enhance the definition of the jawline, providing aesthetic balance. Combining both procedures can help accentuate your facial features and achieve the desired outcome. A thorough physical examination and detailed discussion are crucial for making the final decision.

There are many styles and sizes of chin implants. I prefer silicone implants that are perforated. In women, it is easy to place an implant that is too large. To prevent an overly masculine appearance. the implant should be tapered and conform to the bony chin. In addition, I like to secure the implants with bone screws so they don't migrate. I recently removed an implant that had been secured with 2 permanent sutures but the implant was well off the bone. It had to be removed.

Chin implants come in a variety of sizes and styles. At the time of surgery, the surgeon will size you to determine what looks appropriate. Laying a chin implant on the outside of the skin is not equivalent to placing the chin implant inside the skin.
