your doctor should have a very detailed protocol for post-liposuction.If you are unhappy with your results please speak to your physician and ensure he was a full body VASER HD liposuction physciain wtih expensive experience in body shaping and not just traditional fat reduction. At this point you should be using compression, RF treatments like venus legacy / exilis ultra / inmode forma or contoura and lymphatic massage to get you through healing. We always add shock wave therapy such as cellutone, z wave, and eclipse evive to help prvent scar tissue formation and ensure an even and smooth result. It will take 6-12 months to see the final outcome. If you are unhappy you can get a revision procedure by an expert in VASER HD lipo. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for your question! For my patients having liposuction, I recommend they wear the surgical garment we provide for the first 3 weeks, 24/7, then an additional 3 weeks at night only. It is easiest to fit loose, flowy clothing over the garment. Best of luck!
Be sure to wear your compression garment as instructed by your surgeon. You can wear whatever you want over your garment, however you will probably be more comfortable in loose fitting clothing. Good luck.
Thanks for your question. More important than what clothes to wear are the compression garments. I have my liposuction patients wear a compression garment (faja) covering all treated 24/7 except to shower for 4 weeks post op. This helps ontrol swelling as the compression on your tissues helps your body to reabsorb the edema fluid that accumulates in the tissues after any procedure. This can take quite some time to happen without help from the compression garments. It also helps improve contour. Compression helps to keep the tissues adherent to the underlying structures while healing, this can help prevent the wrinkled skin appearance that can happen when the tissues heal in ways we don't want them to.
Chelseagirl I appreciate your concern, however as long as you are wearing your elastic garment, you should be able to wear your regular clothing. However, there will be more swelling during the first weeks after surgery, and your tight jeans may not fit. Do not fret however, because they will fit normally or even be a bit loose once all swelling resolves. Also, tight fitting clothing may be more uncomfortable and painful right after surgery. Confirm my advice with your board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck.
Most plastic surgeons recommend wearing a compression garment for a period of 4 to 6 weeks after liposuction. The PS who performed your surgery is the best one to recommend the duration and type of compression garment, because each plastic surgeon has a different protocol based upon outcome of the surgery, experience, and training. If this applies to you, you will have to wear loose clothing for that period of time.Your plastic surgeon knows your postoperative course best and would be better able to advise you on this. However, if you have a stable result that has not changed in weeks, then wearing tight jeans is probably not going to disrupt anything or create a dent, other than a temporary one. After liposuction of the abdominal and hips, it’s important to wear compression garments as recommended by your surgeon. These garments help minimize swelling, provide support to the treated areas, and aid in the healing process. Your surgeon will typically provide guidance on the type of compression garments and how long you should wear them. In general, they may include specialized compression pants or girdles that cover the treated areas. It is important to also bring a clean set of comfortable and easy to put on clothing to go home in. Sippers or slip on shoes are also helpful. It’s always recommended to follow your surgeon’s instructions to ensure the best results and a smooth recovery.
Thank you for your question. I recommend loose clothes without tight elastic bands to my clients. Please check with your PS
Initially after liposuction you will be swollen and your regular clothes will likely be tight. Yes, it might be a good idea to get so me looser clothes to wear for the first several weeks or until the swelling subsides.
Thank you for your question! Based on your photos, you’re an excellent candidate for liposuction of the love handles. This will significantly narrow your waist and remove the unwanted fat. Liposuction for men and women is the same, there is no difference in the type of fat. I recommend co...
Thanks for the question. Based on your photos and the degree of periumbilical fat I would recommend liposuction. This will give you a better overall result. As far as the areas that would benefit from treatment, I would recommend your abdomen and waist. These areas can easily be treated wit...
Dear Chelsea, Hello and thank you for your excellent question. In my practice, we do not use opiates or narcotics for liposuction. Narcotics are not used during the procedure, and ibuprofen and other non-narcotic pain medications are used for postoperative pain. You may want to look into a...
