I have deep dents on either side of my body. I can put my thumb inside the dent. I had liposuction of the hips/flanks and upper back. I was told to get lymphatic massages, wear my compression garment, and drink lots of water. Is there anything else that I can do? Are these dents normal? Why does it look like this?
Answer: Divot deformities from Liposuction Liposuction is an operation where the surgeon creates tunnels created by the cannulas . Each path leads to the removal of fat cell and a hollow tube that collapses. The goal is to create paths in intersecting paths and patterns that leads to an even result when the tunnels collapse. Immediately after surgery, the hollow tubes will be filled with fluid. During the first month, 60 % of the fluid is reabsorbed. It is important to wear the garment for 4 to 12 hours a day - but to remove it while you sleep so that you do not have indents and folds. The fluid has to even out. Starting day 5, we have you start massaging the areas to "push" the fluid around and even out the fluid layer. Scar tissue replaces the fluid. If left in pockets, you will get lumps and divots. Vibration over the areas of fluid also helps to spread it out and a smoother result.

Answer: I have deep dents on either side of my body after Liposuction. What can I do? Hello. Great question. How long ago was your procedure. There may be swelling present which misguides the results of your procedure. Keep following your surgeon's post op instructions.

Answer: Post Lipo - Lymphatic Massage, Hyperbaric Oxygen, RF (Venus Legacy, Exilis, Vanquish, InMode Forma), Cellutone/Z Wave/Evive If you are unhappy with your results please speak to your physician and ensure he was a full body VASER HD liposuction physician with expensive experience in body shaping and not just traditional fat reduction. At this point you should be using compression, RF treatments like venus legacy / exilis ultra / inmode forma or contoura and lymphatic massage to get you through healing. We always add shock wave therapy such as cellutone, z wave, and eclipse evive to help prevent scar tissue formation and ensure an even and smooth result. It will take 6-12 months to see the final outcome. If you are unhappy you can get a revision procedure by an expert in VASER HD lipo. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Liposuction Recovery Compassionate I appreciate your concern, however it is quite early in your recovery journey. It can take as long as six months for all swelling to resolve and skin contour to return to normal. I am not a fan of lymphatic massage because it can be painful and there is no proof that it has any benefits. I recommend continue wearing your elastic garment and try gentle self massage with moisturizer daily. Confirm my advice with your board-certified plastic surgeon.

Answer: I have deep dents on either side of my body after Liposuction. What can I do? (photos) Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation is normal. I suggest my patients to try the lymphatic massages and to use a full body compression garment, 24/7 for the first 3 months, and after that, for 12 hours a day for 3 more months, to get the best results. It is important for the compression garment to be very tight, for it to help with the swelling, after surgery. Please, follow up close with your plastic surgeon. Good luck :)
