2 months post liposuction and my stomach is still bumpy, was my procedure a failure? (Photo)

Liposuction is an operation where the surgeon creates tunnels created by the cannulas .   Each path leads to the removal of fat cell and a hollow tube that collapses.  The goal is to create paths in intersecting paths and patterns that leads to an even result when the tunnels collapse.Immediately after surgery, the hollow tubes will be filled with fluid.  During the first month, 60 % of the fluid is reabsorbed.   It is important to wear the garment for 4 to 12 hours a day - but to remove it while you sleep so that you do not have indents and folds.  The fluid has to even out.  Starting day 5, we have you start massaging the areas to "push" the fluid around and even out the fluid layer.  Scar tissue replaces the fluid.  If left in pockets, you will get lumps and divots.  Vibration over the areas of fluid also helps to spread it out and a smoother result.

Hello. Great question. I am sorry for your post op difficulties. A personal examination is needed to properly determine what your bumps are. It may be just swelling. Please schedule a follow up appointment with your surgeon.

Lumpiness and irregularities are noticeable in most patients after liposuction; it may last for months. Fat tissue that is "injured" with liposuction and surgery creates lumps and deep scars that will take several months to flatten, soften and disappear. Garment, post liposuction massage, manual massage of irregularities as well as ultrasound massage (ultrasound massage kit, $40-60 range) are ways to deal with these. However, there is a set of irregularities that is result of uneven liposuction; these will need treatment with new liposuction once healing of fat is completed (12-18 months after surgery) unless they are so visible that patient insists of having them corrected earlier.

Snow  I appreciate your concern, however it is still early in your recovery journey. However, it does appear that you have a allergic reaction to the garment. You should wear a T-shirt beneath the garment if possible to prevent skin contact and allow the rash to subside. Also, the garment should be snug but not overly tight and uncomfortable. You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation and irregularities are normal.
