Type of filler and technique will reduce the likelihood of lumps. I recommend injections with cannulas to limit complications. These lip fillers (Volbella, Restylane, Juvederm) are good for creating a symmetrical and full lip. Nova threads can be used to improve lift and shape. Implants or fat are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert to go over your desired results. Best, Dr. Emer
LoveYourself55. Good question. Both technique and type of filler used have significant effects on final results after lip augmentation. Fillers like Juvéderm ultra plus are an excellent option because the lips can be molded and filled to appropriate size fairly easily. Seek out a board-certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist with lots of experience with lip fillers. Best of luck.
Thank you for your question. Sometimes the filler can be placed too close to the skin and not deep enough and this can lead to a lumpy feel. It also needs to be massaged to help soften and mould the filler. If you have had a very thick filler then this can sometimes feel lumpier but usually settles down. So to answer your question it is really a combination of good technique and the type of filler used I hope this is of help for you BWRohit SethPlastic, reconstructive, aesthetic and hair transplant surgery
Sometimes small "lumps" can occur in the lips from the filler deposits needing to settle in. This can normally be smoothed out with gentle massage. Often it resolves in time. The product attracts water to soften the lips. So when the water settles into place the lumps go away. You can use a product like Restylane Silk to soften the lips with less chance of looking lumpy. Our nurse injector is a certifitied Silk cannula injection trainer in our office. She can help you with soft and smooth lips.
Great question! When dermal fillers are placed in soft tissue (whether it is in the lips or other facial structure), the result is dependent on a variety of factors. This includes depth of injection, amount, type of filler, technique of provider, and goals of the patient. Therefore, if a patient is seeking more more volume or definition, this may necessitate the “lumps and nodules” to achieve the desired end result. And of course, as with all procedures, there will be immediate swelling and inflammation; this should minimize over time. Even in the most experienced hands, nodules may occur.
This is not normal. The filler was not smoothly placed. I would go back to the injector to have them try and blend it a bit better. By a week, you should see less balling up and less nodules than that.
Thank you for your question. You are asking about an indentation in your lips which you noticed a few years ago, and were hoping would even out. I can help guide you with this issue, in the absence of a physical exam. I’m Dr. Amiya Prasad. I’m a Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeon and Fel...
I would wait a week or 10 days until you are well. It probably wouldn't alter anything but why take a chance? I like my patients well when we do these elective procedures. In addition since you have an auto immune problem why take a chance? We like your immune system in good working order ...
