I had cool sculpting done on my stomach on June 1. Three places were done (top and the two sides). I then came back on July 1 to have the bottom/middle done. A couple days after that second procedure I noticed a long lump about 1.5 inches long and shaped similar to a hot dog on the right side of my belly button. After 4 weeks it is no longer tender but still there! I have never had any lumps before and am relatively thin but for the pouch you get after having a baby. Help! Will this go away??
Answer: Swelling after Coolsculpting--add lymphatic massage, hyperbaric oxygen, venus legacy, vanquish, exilis, celluton, zwave, VASER Thank you for the photo, you may have some swelling for 3-6 months after Coolsculpting. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. For best results with Coolsculpting, a combination approach is needed. I recommend adding radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra for skin tightening and with Z wave/Cellutone for skin smoothing. However, a Vaser with ThermiRF procedure is needed to give more contouring, fat removal, skin tightening and definition. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Lump after coolsculpting It is not unusual to have swelling and even some hardness in the treated area. However, after about a month the swelling should have resolved. There is a rare condition called Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia PAD. In PAD, the fat cells actually increase in size after coolsculpting. PAD will not go away on it's own but it can be easily treated with a mini liposuction or with Sculpture.

Answer: 2 months post-op, Lump after cool sculpting? Thanks for the question and the photo. Sorry that you are having this concern after the procedure. I would recommend that you see your provider so they can evaluate it and document what is going on and see what can be done to minimize this, which can occur after CoolSculpting. One thing that works well here is the use of the Zimmer Z Wave. It is an acoustic wave technology that we have found, and others too, to smoothen the skin faster than massage or other techniques. See about Z Wave and how it may be helpful. Good luck.

Answer: Lump after Coolsculpting To really know if you are going to have a lump there or not you will need to wait 3 months and see. If your Coolsculpting was done with an older handpiece called Coolmax you may have had insufficient central treatment. That can not be evaluated until your healing is complete at 3 months. It can be remedied by using the newer handpiece. Check with your treating facility (they may not be aware of this information). You do not need and will not need complex interventions.

Answer: Lump after Coolsculpting It is hard to tell from the photos you provided. In general most “lumps”are small areas of inflammation which naturally resolve. You maybe experiencing “step off” which happens when one area is treated and the adjacent area is not treated causing a visual difference and what you are calling lumps are preexisting untreated fat . It is not PAH ( paradoxical hyperplasia ) as that is extremely rare and too early in the time course to have those symptoms appear. If you return to your provider they should have before photos to compare where the applicators where placed and determine if it is pre existing fat or just regular inflammation
