Last summer I had gone to two consultations and received conflicting advice. (One suggested a mini tummy tuck, because I have a significant amount of hanging skin that I'd need to loose and the other said that I'd be fine with lipo and appear to have excellent elasticity in my skin. (I've always struggled w/ weight, exercise 2-4 times a week and actually eat pretty well for the most part. 5'6 180lbs I'm not trying to look great in a bikini, but just to feel comfortable in my own skin.)
Answer: CoolSculpting Candidate Hello, Thank you for your question. CoolSculpting is a great alternative if you want to avoid surgery. It is ideal for patients who are within 15-20 lbs of their goal weight. Please consult with a local provider to determine what the best course of action would be. Good luck!

Answer: Liposuction/tummy tuck maybe the better option Hello and thank you for your question. From looking at your photos I would suggest liposuction and possibly a tummy tuck. Both are surgeries that will give you major results. Cool sculpting will work for certain areas, and will take multiple sessions and long periods of time for you to see optimal results, it can also get very costly if you are trying to target multiple areas. If you have hanging skin, cool sculpting will not be sufficient enough for you to achieve your best results. With a tummy tuck, or mini tummy tuck, you can remove and liposuction your excess fat along with removing any excess skin. This will give you the best results based on what you are looking for. Best of luck!

Answer: Options Thank you for your question. CoolSculpting, liposuction and/or tummy tuck are all options for you. CoolSculpting is a non-surgical option that will reduce designated areas by approximately 20-25%. Areas can be retreated for a 50% reduction. Liposuction will reduce these areas by approximately 75%. Should you want to remove hanging skin and tighten the appearance of your abdomen, you may want to consider a tummy tuck. My strong advice is to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who is knowledgeable with all of these options and who will be able to guide you regarding risks and benefits. Best of luck.

Answer: Lower back and belly fat with Coolsculpting If you're looking to look better in your clothes then coolsculpting can definitely give you what you are looking for. Depending on your age and skin inelasticity, yes, you could have extra skin after the treatment though coolsculpting does provide some skin tightening. I tell patients that if you just want your clothes fit better and look better in the mirror with a dress on, then coolsculpting is fine. If you are planning on entering a bikini contest or want to show off your mid section on the beach, then a tummy tuck is probably the way to go.

Answer: CS or SL Hi. Thanks for the question. You would be a candidate for either CoolSculpting or SmartLipo. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, so you need an in-person evaluation to go over these differences. In general, SL gets you results faster, especially if you have alot to get done. But CS gives great results also, if you have the time to do multiple sessions and don't mind waiting for your results. In your case you'd have to treat each area at least 2 times, and maybe 3.Best of luck.Michael Kerin MDKerin MedSpa & Laser Center
