It is important to realize that some of the crepe neck skin is related to skin surface wrinkles and will not get much better even after a face/neck lift. You will need a laser to help with that issue.

Without pictures or an examination, it's very hard to answer definitively. But I will tell you that I routinely perform facelifts in patients in their 50's because it is a powerful procedure to enhance the cheek, jawline, and neck. I have been disappointed by energy devices and facelift compromises. If you are going to take time out of your life to have surgery, focus on the result, not the nomenclature. Facelifts last about 10-12 years, but that is subjective.
