Question

My face has lost so much volume in the last 7 years from overtreatment with lasers and RF or just general aging. What can be done for a better aesthetic? I hate the way it looks

An important point regarding maintaining useful appearance of the face and neck is sun protection. If you are already doing this on a daily basis it is great, otherwise it would be worthwhile introducing it to your skin routine.

If you would like to understand what facelift procedure can do for you and in particular along the lines of what the deep plane facelift typically delivers, I suggest that you examine your face shape when you lie down completely flat without a pillow and look in the mirror rather than in selfie photos. When you compare the appearance of the face lying down and sitting up, you will notice some differences and you will also notice whether facelift is the right type of change for your desired aesthetic goals.

Volume loss related to radiofrequency treatments can be compensated for using fat transfer or Sculptra and to some degree this can also be simulated in 3D photos to help you with your decisions.

Dermal fillers can restore fullness and definition to shallow contours by adding naturally occurring hyaluronic acid back into the dermal structure. An autologous fat transfer can also restore lost facial volume using your body’s own fat to produce a rejuvenated and youthful appearance. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. Sorry to hear about the issues from lasers and RF, but not at all surprised. I have been cautioning my regular followers for years about the marketing and social media hype and the complications of these expensive, "bells and whistles" devices. Fortunately, robust HA fillers in the hands of an experienced injector have an excellent track record for improving age-related or other volume loss issues--with most results--unlike with the light and energy-based gizmos--typically seen immediately following treatment. You would be wise to make certain to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist and best of luck.
