325 cc moderate plus or high profile implants for mild case of tuberous breast?? Advice needed!! (photos)

Question

22 years old 5 2" 117lbs 1 child. My doctor and I talked about 275-300cc moderate plus profile silicone gel implants at my consult, then jumped to 325cc high profile implants after I told him at my pre-op appointment that I'd like to have some fullness at the top. I would like to go from a small B cup to a Large D cup. I'm nervous about the high profile because of my tuberous breast. Also I did the rice test my doctor suggested. I did 12 oz= 350cc and thought they were still on the small side.

It is best to visit a board certified plastic surgeon for a
consultation to determine the most suitable size based on your measurements and
desired results.  The surgeon will take a
series of measurements and provide a range of sizes that could safely be placed
in your body.  Based on that range, you
will get to choose the size that you feel most comfortable with.  It is also helpful to bring a variety of
pictures to your consultation—pictures of breasts that are too large, too
small, and just right.  This allows the

It is very difficult to determine the exact size and shape implant you will require to best match your ideal breast image without an examination by a board certified plastic surgeon. Not just any board certified plastic surgeon, but one with many years of frequently performing breast augmentation surgery including different approaches, techniques and implant choices. This is because several measurements not to mention your breast characteristics are needed to determine the optimal implant size to obtain your goals. Without knowing these dimensions it would be difficult to make this determination. For example, the existing base width of your breast will determine, in many cases, the maximal volume per implant profile that you can accommodate. To illustrate; a 100 cc difference may make a significant difference with a narrow base width breast, but much less of a difference if you have a wide chest wall and wide breast “foot print”. Therefore, just because your friend may have a great result with let’s say a 350 cc implant to make her go from a “A” cup to a “C” cup size does not mean that you will have the same result with the same size implant. . Further simply placing implants in a bra to determine the size best for you is not always accurate as the bra often distorts the size, is dependent on the pressure the bra places plus the implant is outside your breast and not under it among other variables. Computer software morphing programs that automatically determine the best implant size can be helpful in some but not all cases (e.g. doesn’t work well in my experience with existing implants, sagging or asymmetric breasts). Using “want to be” photos however are useful if simply provided to the surgeon as I will further explain in the below link.#breastaugmentation#findingtherightsize#BA

I recommend you perform a Tubular Breasts Correction with Breast Augmentation using silicone implants, at the same surgical time.There is a surgical technique for Tuberous Breasts correction, by which it is arranged the tuberous areolar ring from inside, without requiring areolar reduction. Thank you for your question and photographs.  Breast implant selection is an exciting, but stressful part of the breast augmentation process as there are so many choices. Unfortunately it is impossible to recommend the best implant style, size or shape without an in-person examination that allows for the measurement of key breast parameters, as well as permits an in-depth discussion as to your desired goals and outcome. I would recommend you voice your concerns with your surgeon, they are in the best position to ensure that the implants the two of your decide upon are the right ones to meet your expectations.  It sounds as if it may be wise for you to "try on" several of the implants so that you can have a better visual representation as to what they would look like. Unfortunately to reach a D cup breast size you likely will need an implant that is larger than 300-325cc.  Best wishes!

Your pictures are greatly  appreciate it. Whether you should go with them moderate plus profile or high-profile depends on your breast measurements. Your surgeon will guide you in that regard. If you would like to be a teacup I believe a 275 mL implant to 300 is not going to be large enough. You may want to consider

Hard question to answer, If you feel it is too small then it probably is, you need to be happy with your selection, it is your body, not your surgeons, 325 cc  will definetly not get you to a large D, the profile does not affect the tuberous breast outcome, what does affect results  is the " work" that is done at the time of your procedure, I would recommend another consult and would be happy to see you since I am also located in Louisiana, good luck and you need to have confidence in your surgeon and your implant selection size!

Two issues: #1. You uncertainty needs to be alleviated prior to surgery. Best to met again with your surgeon.#2. Most tuberous cases may need a few operative sessions. So you need to be made aware of that...

Size is an individual decision based on measurements and putting implants in a bra till you see the volume on your chest that you like.  If 350cc seemed small to you then go larger!  Have your surgeon help with the shape of the implant used.Dr. Corbin

Dear Ms. Maddie513,Thank you for your question and photos.Breast size is a very personal choice. The correct answer is what proportions you want to achieve.My responses are:1)sizing:   A)purchase several bras (full bodied and no padding) of the size you think you want to       be. As you realize there are no standard bra (strap/cup) sizes.   B)take a measuring cup (1 oz=30cc) place rice in a nylon    C) try on various volumes of rice with some form fitting clothes.2) profile of implant:   A) for the same volume the higher the profile the narrower the base width.   B)there is very little difference in projection between a moderate to high profile implant      thus little affect on how the actual nipple will look.   C) the base width of the breast should equal the base width of the implant    D)thus I personally  chose the profile based on the patients chest measurements,        (a high profile on a wide chest may not result in the cleavage desired and         conversely a low profile on a narrow chest may result in implant in the outside arm         area).3)if implant is placed under the pectoralis  muscle I usually add 10% volume to what the patient chooses.... To compensate for the muscle pressing down on the muscle and for the naturally settleing of the implant which often makes the breast appear smaller 2-3 months after surgery.I suggest you make out a list of your questions and take your selected nude "model" photos of what your desired goals/look would be and then schedule several different consultative appointments with experienced Plastic Surgeons who are Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and who are ideally members of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (denoting by membership as having met additional criteria and a focus on Cosmetic Plastic Surgery).My best wishes, R.
