Can I expect a little lift in inner thigh skin with full tummy tuck? (photos)

Great question having a tummy tuck can help elevates the pubic region but unfortunately we’ll not help raise the inner thighs. The only way to lift in her thighs is by a separate stand-alone thigh lift procedure to remove the excess skin. The reason for this is that the ligaments in the groin crease will does not allow the skin to be pulled up from the inner thighs

Unfortunately the benefit from a tummy tuck does not extend down to the thighs. If this were truly troublesome you would want to consider additional options such as a thigh lift. 

Unfortunately a tummy tuck wont enhance the inner thigh. It can improve the anterior and lateral thigh but has relatively little effect on the inner thigh. If your inner thighs bother you, I'd consider a crescent thigh lift which keeps the scar in the inner thigh crease where it is not conspicuous. Best wishes,Dr. Jan

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the answer is no. Having a tummy tuck will not affect the loose skin to the inner thighs. I would recommend a groin crease thigh lift for you in addition to the tummy tuck. This incision is hidden in the crease of the groin and will remove the excess skin to the upper, inner thighs. I recommend discussing this surgical option with your plastic surgeon. Best of luck!

Thanks for your question and photos. A loss of skin elasticity and weight fluctuations are common during menopause. While a tummy tuck may provide a small amount of lift in the pubic area and outer thighs, it is unlikely to affect the inner thighs. You appear to be a good candidate for a thigh lift, however, which will tighten and improve the appearance of your inner thighs. These procedures could be performed simultaneously so you only need to undergo surgery once. I recommend you meet with a board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns and thoroughly explore your options. Good luck to you!

Unfortunately, even an aggressive tummy tuck won’t lift the skin on your thighs. A thigh lift would be needed to address that area.

Hi LG gal, thanks for providing your pictures.  It would be great if doing a tummy tuck could also help the inner thighs, but unfortunately it cannot.  After menopause, there is accelerated loss of elasticity in the skin which may particularly be  noticeable on the inner thighs and upper arms for many women. 
If you are not interested in having a surgical thigh lift, which it sounds like you are not,  you may be a good candidate for a procedure called BodyTite.

The only way to address loose skin of the inner thigh is to have a medial thigh lift- a tummy tuck will not impact the skin of your inner thigh. The scar runs from your groin area, down the inside of the thigh, to the knee. In case of tummy tuck, it will tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin from your abdomen which might affect the pubic area but it won't have an effect on inner thighs. If you want that area to be addressed, you will probably need a thigh lift. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Sound like you know the answer. Most responders have said essentially the same thing...a tummy tuck would not improve or positively the appearance and texture of the skin on your inner thighs. Congratulations on having your muscle be tone. If you don't want the inner thigh scar, understandable, you may consider some non-invasive technologies. They DO NOT provide the same type of skin tightness as a surgical procedure but you do not have a surgical scar. Sincerely, Dr. K
