Time sensitive revision rhinoplasty: what type of revision specialist should I seek? Is this worth a revision? (Photos)
Hi doctors, I’m 24F seeking time-sensitive guidance on complex revision rhinoplasty. I had rhinoplasty in 2019- my dream graduate school program begins Aug 24. I want to feel confident starting this new chapter, but I don’t want unsafe surgery. My prior rhinoplasty healed with worsening asymmetry/structural issues: thick sebaceous scar-prone skin, fibrosis, tip deviation, cartilage warping/scar contraction, hanging columella, severe alar retraction/nostril show, over-rotated “piggy” look, internal scar tissue/webbing or vestibular stenosis with one-sided obstruction, caudal septal/internal valve issues, and a bony callus/dorsal irregularity causing shadows. Based on my photos, does this seem improvable? What type of revision specialist and what techniques would be appropriate? Would this likely require open structural revision, rib cartilage grafting, caudal septal/septal extension reconstruction, internal/external valve repair, alar rim/batten/lateral crural strut grafts, alar retraction/hanging columella correction, release of webbing/stenosis with splinting/stenting, and bony callus/dorsal management? I’m worried my thick skin may scar, warp, shift, or form callus again. Are there techniques or post-op protocols like taping, steroid/5-FU injections, or close scar management that reduce recurrence? If surgery were done soon, could I be presentable by Aug 24? I understand no final plan can be given without an exam, but I’d appreciate honest guidance.
