Delivering consistent quality, Liposuction, and for transfer results is more difficult than most people believe. To make an accurate assessment of the outcome of a procedure we always need to see proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before, and after pictures and ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took. Consider reposting using proper before and after pictures. Revisions with improvement or possible depending on the circumstances. Revision work so many times more difficult and primary procedures, and patients should keep expectations real. Cellulite is made worse by fat transfer, and this can be a contributing factor. It’s important to differentiate if the contour is due to poor technique or cellulite, or a combination of both. Considering that revision work as many times more difficult than Primary Transfer, it is important to choose a sufficiently talented provider. I suggest all patients have multiple in person, consultations before considering any permanent and irreversible body contouring procedure. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients, I had similar body characteristics to your own and experience provider should have no difficulty showing you that before and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. The best providers for doing a Revision Work are the same providers who do the best primary procedures. Palpable nodules are commonly related to fat necrosis. All patients will develop fat necrosis after fat transfer. A significant percentage of the fat injected will not survive. If that is injected, with good technique, minimizing how much fat is injected in any single area, then fat necrosis should not become noticeable with nodules. Removing noticeable fat necrosis is technically difficult, and often requires open excision. Your best option is to find the best provider in my opinion that requires having multiple in person consultations. Patients should be highly selective when it comes to choosing providers for liposuction and fat transfer procedures. Results from these procedures vary greatly, depending on who you choose. Being board-certified in plastic surgery with years of experience does not mean that somebody has mastered either Liposuction or fat transfer. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
