7y. ago I had rhino. Right after taking the tapes off I saw that the tip of my brow is moving, pulling down unusually. In other words, it’s like hyperactive muscle that pulls my brow down when I wink. I visited two neurologists both only looked and said that it isn’t the nerve and it might be the muscle tic and that I should get Botox. What else I can do? Can it be cured? I heard that there is electroneuromyography how safe it is? And can it help to understand the problem? I’m so lost!
Answer: Rhinoplasty and muscle movement Hello and thank you for your question. It is unlikely there is any muscle damage. I would recommend Botox for this area as it will likely help. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Answer: Botox maybe a reasonable place to start. 25 years, we have not seen any unusual muscular activity of the brow after rhinoplasty surgery. Since the hyperactive muscle appears to be near your eyebrows, you may be well suited for a Botox treatment. If this is something that you're not comfortable with, please get it second opinion from another neurologist. Thank you. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Dr Onur Ergun Electroneuromyography is a safe dignostic tool. Small electric stimulatins are applied and the muscle reaction is recorded. But you will need botox for treatment

Answer: What happens with the eyebrow when we contract the orbicularis muscle? The ocularis muscle pulls the brow down. This is normal. From the pictures you’ve included I don’t see anything abnormal. Honestly, I don’t think you should have this treated. If you’re concerned about your brow position, then consider brow lift surgery. If you’re concerned about your brow, moving down when you close your eyelids, then recognize this is normal and happens for everyone. We can’t really make any quality assessment from the information provided. I don’t think you should try to get treatment for this. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
