I am 44 and have enjoyed the sun too much so have little elasticity on my stomach an sides of my bum. I considered a little vaser lipo as have a little stubborn fat pockets (I'm still an athletic build) and have been advised J-plasm would tighten the skin. I haven't had children so it's not loose just wrinkly when I sit down (looks like orange peel). Could you please advise the best treatment for this as the afore mentioned seems very invasive
Answer: Am I a candidate? It's difficult to tell from the provided photo if J-Plasma would benefit you. Typically it works best on areas where there is good skin elasticity. I encourage you to discuss your concerns with your surgeon to determine if it is right for you. I've included a video that I hope you find helpful.

Answer: Skin Although your photo is very limited, Renuvion does a good job in help tightening loose skin that does not need a tuck. It can be used over the buttock to tighten that area as well.

Answer: J-Plasma or other procedure for elasticity on my stomach and sides of my bum? Hello @Loving744360, thank you for your question. I suggest you consider non-surgical treatments that regenerate and improve skin structure to treat skin laxity. Alternatives such as radies, fixer, ulthera can greatly improve skin tightening in that area. Is best if consult one or several board certified plastic surgeon for more information and recommendations. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS.

Answer: Loss of skin elasticity and sun damage Unfortunately most damage from chronic sun exposure is irreversible. Retinoids was once touted as the only treatment they could actually reverse sun damage. i’m not so sure that that is really the case. Treatments that work on the face are often limited to the face and neck because of its unique abilities to heal when it comes to ablative skin treatments. Subdumal skin treatments despite how they’re advertised including J plasma by Renuvion or body tight will leave you disappointed. Your picture is insufficient to make an assessment regarding Liposuction or really any treatment. Patients with skin laxity whether due to previous pregnancies, weight loss or loss of skin elasticity due to age or Sunday image tend to be lesser candidates for quality liposuction results compared to young people with tight skin and good elasticity. skin laxity including skin with lots of elasticity can create a significant part of body contour and these are not corrected by Liposuction and the adjuvant treated currently en vogue really don’t deliver a noticeable difference. I purchased Renuvion several years ago and use the device for one full year. I simply could not see any difference in skin tightening on any of the patients I treated nor did any of the patients I treated for that year. I regret having purchased a device and have since sold it. With proper pictures we could begin to make an assessment but you’re probably better off having a few in person consultations for the local board-certified plastic surgeons. I will say that delivering consistent quality liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe. Results from Liposuction are permanent and irreversible. For that reason patients should be extremely selective in choosing a provider for these treatments. To find the best most experienced and talented provider for Liposuction I suggest patients have multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons. during each consultation ask each provider to show their entire collection of before and after pictures. Being shown a few sample pictures which most likely represent the best results of the providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of an average results look like in the hands of each provider. You may want to ask each provider to show pictures of patients with similar body characteristics. An experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets of before and after pictures for common procedures like abdominal liposuction. It’s important when looking at pictures to compare other patients who have the same type of skin etc. etc. I also recommend reading all reviews on various physician review websites avoiding providers with any significant number of justified negative reviews. The absence of justified negative reviews is more important and more telling than having an abundance of positive reviews. to get an assessment posting on real self consider reposting with proper pictures. Look at how plastic surgeons take before and after pictures showing your full torso from your neck to your knees wearing undergarments showing your front, side and back side standing in a neutral position. pictures should be taken using the timer on your camera or have someone else take the picture from about 8 feet away.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: Skin rejuvenation and tightening Dear Loving, It’s common to loose elasticity in the skin as we age, sun damage and weight fluctuations can also be a factor. It’s hard to tell from one photo, and not a physical exam the exact tx you need. Good skin care, spf 30 and less sun will help. A healthy diet with natural fats may also be of benefit, as very thin skin can look wrinkled. Although liposculpting with ultrasound, Renuvion skin tightening and mini tummy tucks are all options for skin tightening, I’m not sure these are the best options for you. Best. DrBrecht Seattle, Wa
