Procedure: Removal of 20 year old implants, capsulectomy, muscle repair, and breast lift. 6 weeks post-op. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Chandler and his practice. I had met with other surgeons regarding my concerns and desire for implant removal since learning of BII and suffering many, many unexplainable autoimmune issues. Initially, I privately cried over the prospect of losing my implants, as they had been with me for over 20 years...then there was the terror of some lift mishap! Well, I knew the day that I met with Dr. Chandler, that he would be the one to walk me through this much-needed transformation - physically & mentally. My heart was just at peace after meeting with him and his nurse, Candy. His surgical approach is not destructive to the glandular breast tissue which greatly decreases your risk of a poor surgical outcome. He was incredibly patient with answering all of my questions and putting any concerns to rest. His nurse, Mrs. Candy, was and has been such a doll and added bonus to the entire experience! The incision under my breast is the smallest I've seen from literally thousands of lift images. My breasts are so flippin' cute and perky now that I can't believe that I struggled mentally with hanging on to those toxic implants for one second! Overall, my lift is absolutely perfect and my incisions are barely visible at only 6 weeks out. My health is already markedly improved and I will be forever grateful for this incredible surgeon and his unwavering commitment to his patients.
I had an amazing experience with Dr. Chandler, nurse Candie, and the entire staff at this office. From my pre-op appointments through surgery and post-op recovery, they were incredibly supportive and attentive. Dr. Chandler is highly knowledgeable, and his staff handled my care with great delicacy and professionalism. The process was emotionally challenging for me, but their kindness and support made a world of difference. I highly recommend Dr. Chandler and his team!
I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Chandler and his staff. I’m a 66 yo, female and was going on a trip to visit friends I haven’t seen before Covid. I wanted to look better and Dr. Chandler and his staff came through! The compliments I’m receiving is awesome and that reflects on the doctor and his staff!
I had breast explant surgery with total capsulectomy with a lift. Dr. Chandler is amazing. He corrected scars from my implant surgery. He is very attentive and will spend time with you. I mean what physician now a days gives you their personal cell number? His staff is amazing as well. Well worth every penny. I look fabulous.
I did a lot of research before deciding to see Dr. Chandler for my breast implant removal and lift. I knew a lot from my research about different techniques that are used and had my questions all prepared. Dr. Chandler answered all of my questions and I was convinced that he was an excellent choice to do the procedure. The surgery was performed at Destin Surgery Center in Destin, Fl. The facility and staff were top notch and I couldnt be more pleased with the whole experience. After having the silicone implants for 39 years and being 76 years old, I know that my case was challenging! The results are better than I hoped for and I can highly recommend Dr. Chandler and the Destin Surgery Center. Updated on 20 Aug 2024: I am 76 years old and my silicone (above the muscle) implants have been in 39 years! The left breast was the most complex to work on due to the encapsulated position. Consequently, there were several days of pain. Pain meds made it tolerable and now at day 8 it is minimal and no meds needed. Most stitches are internal but 4 external ones were removed today and the pulling sensation stopped. I expect that within the next week Bruising will disappear and pain will be gone!
Dr chandler and his staff are absolutely amazing! They are so professional!! With all these surgery mills these days. This is such a safe place. He’s so honest with what you do and don’t need and won’t push anything you don’t need on you. He is so incredibly skilled. I flew across the U.S. to have my abdominoplasty done by him!! Well worth every penny! ( I thought this would be funny to add in there when I went back to see my Primary care doctor here in Las Vegas I had previously told him I was going to Florida to get a tummy tuck and when I came back and he saw the results he said wow and my 80 years of life I have never seen such a beautiful result mind you this is a man who worked with bariatric patient and has seen lots and lots and lots of Abdominoplastys) All that being said, he and his staff are amazing. He gave me my confidence back!
I came to South Walton Plastic Surgery to see Dr. Chandler for an implant removal w/ lift. Let me tell you- this was a first class experience from beginning to end!! Dr. Chandler is extraordinarily caring, attentive, and skilled. He and his nurse Candi are kind, professional, and informative, and I am extremely pleased with my results of my breast explant and lift two weeks ago. He took the time to fully explain all the details of the procedure and gave me honest expectations and results. He came recommended by several others in the healthcare community and I will continue to recommend him to others. He is wonderful. I could not be happier!
Hello pfnurse1, It is absolutely safe to have a thread lift 2 years after a lower face lift. The PDO threads help to stimulate collagen production and will further contour and lift the area treated. The PDO threads dissolve in 4 - 6 months but continue to keep the treated area lifted for up to 2 years. As always, please see a licensed provider in your local area for assessment and more information.
Hello Jlaw_303, You can absolutely have a Renuvion procedure post previous liposuction. The procedure will be similar in that the provider will need to dissect the tissue in order to make tunnels for the Renuvion energy to have space to contract the tissue. The efficacy should not be compromised as you have already had liposuction. Renuvion works great with liposuction or as a stand-alone procedure for the right patient. As always, please contact your local provider for an assessment and more information.
Hello, I routinely do fat grafting at the same time as the explantation. I see no reason why they cannot be performed at the same time. Sometimes fat grafting may need to be performed in a staged fashion or more than once in order to achieve the optimal aesthetic goals. The cost is extremely variable and thus difficult to give a number.
Hello, without examination or photos it is difficult to determine if a mastopexy would be beneficial. But in general, large implants often stretch out and thin out the breast tissues. Because your implants have only been in for six months, it is likely the degree of stretching and thinning of your breast tissue is not as much for those patients that have had their implants in for longer. After explantation, the breast tissue often does become ptotic (droopy) and flat and causes an appearance for many people that is cosmetically unacceptable. This is not always the case and if the implants are not too large and have not stretched the skin out too much then sometimes the breast skin will reshape over time to a degree that will allow the patient to be satisfied with the result. During your examination, your surgeon should be able to predict for you how the breast will look after the implants are removed and this will allow you to make your decision on how you would like to proceed with undergoing a mastopexy or not.
