My nose is way too small, can it be made just a little bit longer and less flat? (Photo)

I have never had a rhinoplasty, but I am asking this in the revision section because I naturally look like I have had a botched one. I know people are obsessed with button noses, but mine is too small for my face and looks like a bat or a goblin. I would like to more or less keep the shape but make it just a tiny bit longer and more prominent. How can this be done?

Thank you for submitting your question and photos. You are likely a candidate for rhinoplasty to reshape the nose and create balance with your other facial features. During this surgical procedure, a cartilage graft may be used to change the shape and projection of the nasal tip. 
Keep in mind that rhinoplasty is one of the most complex plastic surgeries, requiring skill, experience, and artistry to produce the best possible result. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques, who can assess your aesthetic goals and go over every step of the procedure with you.

There are a few ways to lengthen the nose. In your case we can move all of the nasal structures downward with cartilage, or fill in areas to create more balance.

Hello! Great questions. There are different ways to approach rhinoplasty. The two major are the closed versus open approach. The latter in my experience affords for greater precision and changes. To increase the length and perform changes at the tip, the natural cartilages would be repositioned and grafting material in the form of cartilage used to provide structure. By doing so, you can create lasting, natural changes to your nose. This is called structure rhinoplasty and it works very well. You can certainly create nice changes to your nose if done well. Seek consultation with a facial plastic surgeon who's competent in rhinoplasty for more information. Hope that helps!
