I am currently taking ozempic for weight loss (brusies on stomach are from injections) I am down 8kg but would like to lose another 10kg. I have had a belly like this for years and have not had children, it is thick pinchable fat, no loose skin at the moment. Am I likely to require a tummy tuck or will fat loss/ lipo be enough to flatten this out?
Answer: Ozempic As you are intending to lose more weight I encourage you to finish your weight loss journey before determining if any surgical intervention would be recommended. In the meantime you want to eat a healthy balanced diet and follow a regular exercise routine. You can consider non surgical treatments such as Evolve or Morpheus8 while you continue to lose weight.

Answer: Tummy tuck? I would recommend achieving your desired weight loss to assess the laxity of your skin to determine whether or not you would need a tummy tuck. You may be fortunate to avoid a tummy tuck and have a non-invasive treatment for skin tightening instead. Wish you the best.

Answer: Apron belly Dear jjn11, weight loss will reduce the amount of fat tissue, but it will not solve the problem with loose skin. If you end up with a lot of loose skin after weight loss, then tummy tuck might be the solution. Answer: Tummy tuck Hi from Istanbul!Thank you for your question. I would probably recommend you a tummy tuck and liposuction surgery after you lose more 10kgs. You look quite good from the lateral side but after loosing weight you skin will probably more saggy. If you get only liposuction with your recent weight, your skin will be saggy after.

Answer: Determining the Need for a Tummy Tuck or Liposuction After Weight Loss Hello jjn11. Thank you for your question regarding whether fat loss will be enough to address your apron belly or if you will need a tummy tuck. Your question is common among individuals undergoing significant weight loss. It is difficult to predict with certainty whether you will need surgery or what type of surgery might be required until you have completed your weight loss journey. Here’s a general guideline: Complete Your Weight Loss: Focus on achieving your weight loss goal first. Continue with Ozempic and your weight loss regimen until you reach your target weight. Maintain Weight Loss: Once you have achieved your desired weight, maintain it for at least three months. This will allow your body to stabilize and for you to better assess your abdominal area. Assess Skin and Fat: If you have good skin integrity: Your skin might retract well after losing weight, and liposuction could be sufficient to remove the remaining fat and achieve a flatter abdomen. If you have excess skin and poor skin integrity: If your skin does not retract well and you are left with loose, sagging skin, a tummy tuck or a 360-degree lower body lift might be necessary to remove the excess skin and tighten the area. Ultimately, it will depend on how your skin responds to the weight loss. Consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon after you have maintained your weight for a few months will give you the most accurate assessment and help you make an informed decision about whether you need a tummy tuck, liposuction, or both. Good luck. I hope this helps to answer your question regarding the need for a tummy tuck or liposuction after your weight loss. Sincerely, J. Timothy Katzen, MD, FASMBS, FICS
