There's a fine line between Botox in the upper lip being effective and causing complications. Even the smallest amount can lead to unwanted effects. I usually advise against it. Injecting your top lip alone has made it larger than your bottom lip. There also seems to be a little too much in the white roll of the lip. Make sure you are under the care of an experienced injector. Best wishes.

The upper lip looks like you have had a filler service.  The lip is over filled and is too strong relative to the lower lip.  I would profoundly caution you regarding doing botox to the lip.  The lip purses and does a number of things due to the fact that it is a muscle sphincter.  Weakening it can be a huge mistake.  Please be careful.

You need to be careful with Botox to the upper lip. It can often cause more harm than good. Just make sure that you really trust your surgeon and that you know all of the potential complications before you go ahead. Best of luck.

filler to last longer as it is not under as much pressure with puckering.

I frequently use Botox to subtly augment the upper lip. It works especially well when combined with fillers. Placing Botox into the muscle around the lips makes thrm relax a little, thus adding a little extra pout that my patients love.

Botox, as you probably know, is designed to block the nerve signal that tells the muscle to contract.  The muscle around your mouth would be no exception were you have it injected there.  To get the "lip flip" requires technique that is an advanced skill and considered a master level technique.  It is certainly becoming a lot more popular despite it being an off label use, and I would caution you to make sure you have a very clear understanding of what is being done, how its being done, and what the outcome is likely to be.  The picture you provided shows very nice lips, and my fear would be an upper "lip flip" may cause the upper lip to over present (look like its large and projecting forward too much), which could change the perceived upper/lower lip proportions too much and may have an undesired effect.  Of course, pictures don't tell the whole story, so it may turn out well.  I would go at it slowly.  You can always add a little more botox in 1 -2 weeks if you want more "flip."  Good luck.

I avoid injecting botulinum to the upper lip since there are so many long term consequences that you might regret.  I also think that 1 cc of filler to your upper lip alone is excessive and from your photo overbalances your lower lip.  Normally, the lower lip is expected to be more pouty and fuller than the upper.  Use your best judgment....regards,Jon A Perlman, MD FACSBeverly Hills, Ca.
