How can I go from an undefined thick ethnic nose to a defined nose? (photos)

photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can
accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your
lower nose.   Make
sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients
who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer
animation system. The most important aspect is to find a
surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a
qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

You have a bulbous tip, which can be reshaped and a dorsal hump. Your nose bridge can be narrowed to achieve a slimmer result. I would recommend starting with a consultation with a board certified facial plastic surgeon that specializes in rhinoplasty surgery to discuss if rhinoplasty can address your concerns. 
I would recommend writing down the following questions before scheduling your consultation:
1. Are you unhappy with the tip of your nose? 
2. Do you feel that your nose is too wide? 
3. Do you want to make your nostrils smaller in appearance? 
4. Are you looking to decrease the general size of your nose?
I hope some of these questions will help you pinpoint what it is that you don't like about your nose.  Cost will vary due to various factors like anesthesia fees, facilities fees, etc. I wish you the best as you research your options when scheduling a rhinoplasty consultation.

Every nose needs to be assessed as to the anatomy of all the nasal cartilages, bones, subcutaneous tissues and the skin.  Only then can the proper surgical approach be formulated. An experienced and talented rhinoplasty surgeon will be able give prospective patients a reasonable estimation of the degree of refinement that is possible.  In your particular case, a properly performed nasal bones in-fracture, as well as nasal tip sculpting with possible tip graft would created a pleasing appearance.  Only an in person evaluation can determine whether your desired result can be achieved. 

Thank you for your photos. What you show can be achieved with a surgical rhinoplasty. Rather than cutting out those areas, your cartilage will be trimmed and repositioned to achieve an appropriate appearance while stay maintaining your nasal airways for normal function. It is best to have an in-office examination to determine the best treatment plan for your nose and to evaluate your skin envelope. You do have moderate thickness skin however, with adequate cartilage support and manipulation, the skin should still be able to shrink and drape in a way that improves the definition of your nose. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Hello and thank you for providing photo reference,  As per your photos you seem to be a great candidate for a rhinoplasty procedure. Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area with whom you can discuss your desired results. Ask to see before and after pictures of patients who have undergone the same surgery and who had a similar nose to yours. Best Regards 

 A formal in-person examination going to be required to make a determination about what is causing the width of the tip of the nose. If the width of the tip is mostly skin, only minimal improvement will occur with the rhinoplasty. If the width is caused by excessive cartilage or wide cartilage, conservative cartilage removal or suture techniques to be accomplished to reduce the bulbous tip. Thick skin cannot be changed in the nasal tip area, and prevents refinement in the nasal tip.

Thank you for contacting Dr Daniel Man.  As to your nose , during an open technique I can usually identify the portion where too much fullness exists. Trimming is done there and later osteotomy , narrowing the bones , will be essential.  Don’t hesitate to ask to see many before and after so you can feel comfortable and convinced.

Thank you for your photos and imaging. Although I think you are likely to be able to achieve something close to though perhaps not exactly like your proposed image photo, you need to speak with a board-certified facial or ABPS board-certified plastic surgeon to be properly assessed. The thickness of your skin, the prominence or lack of prominence of your cartilage and other factors will determine the degree of change that's possible. Changing the nose is not exactly like sculpting a piece of clay so there are limits to what can be achieved but in your case I think the improvement will be very pleasing.
