Have hypertrophic scars on nose from acne. Risk of hypertrophic scarring from rhinoplasty?

In the past when I have had pimples on my nose, the pimples would leave raised scars (bumps) on my nose. Therefore, I am wondering whether I should be worried that having a rhinoplasty would also result in excessive scarring or hypertrophic scarring as well?

hello thank you for your question and provided information as well..Based on the photo shown, the angles shown are difficult to determine the procedure to which you apply, my recommendation is that you be consulted by a certified plastic surgeon.

The incision from rhinoplasty is usually INSIDE the nose, so you will not see any hypertrophy from it in my experience.  Be sure to discuss your goals and concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon and consider the pros and the cons. Be certain your surgeon is properly certified.  I've attached a link where you can start your search.

Hypertrophic scars and keloid formation are not usually a concern with rhinoplasty. Excess scar tissue under the skin is a possibility and must be watched closely in the postoperative period. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty expert for an in-person consultation to review all of your concerns in detail.
