Skin discoloration on nose bridge 2 and a half years post op, will this heal? (photo)

Question

I had silicon implant into my nose 2 and a half years ago. There were times it would "detach" or bump up right where the bridge is. Went to my doctor, he said it is not detached and told me to just wait it out it will eventually heal. Fast forward to now, it does not "detach" no longer but it does have this really bad reddish purple discoloration just on the bridge of the nose where the implant ends. It also sheds slin only in that area. Will it heal? Should I be worried?

Dear Gee12,I am sorry you are having difficulty with your nose. Because it has been 2 1/2 years, it does not seem likely that the discoloration will go away on its own. that is caused because of the implant and it will not heal or go away on its own.  It is the implant that has thinned the skin and it may even protrude through the skin at which point you will need to remove the implant.  Good luck Andre Aboolian, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon

Since two and a half years you will probably need an IPL or laser to get rid of the discoloration.
