I am 10 months post op from having a small hump removed and ever since my cast was removed, I didn't like the profile of one of my nostrils and thought it looked more raised. As the swelling went down, that side became worse and I also noticed a harsh line down my nose start to appear. The line feels like cartilage as I can move it back & forth and starts around the middle of my nose and goes almost to the tip. It's really noticeable in some lighting especially when I smile.Does this need revision?

Answer: Rhinoplasty Concerns at Thanks for your post. In general, you appear to have a nice result but I share your concerns you cited. While I don't think you have a classic inverted V deformity, you do appear to have some mild concavity of the middle vault cartilages on the right side which results in a shadow. You do have some asymmetry as you correctly described. The "line" down the center of your nose is likely nasal septal cartilage, and may appear too high. A minor revision with placement of cartilage spreader grafts and some reduction of your cartilaginous septum will improve your result and enhance your dorsal aesthetic lines. Further improvement for your nostril could be considered as well. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon and ask for best recommendations. Hopefully you both can agree on the best plan to enhance your result even further. If not, consider a second opinion from an experienced revision rhinoplasty specialist. Best Wishes.
