I'm talking about months later. I have school and work and Im required to be seated for many hours. Can all that sitting down affect the fat throughout the years? I really want to get this procedure done but I don't want to be paranoid forever about my butt getting flat.
Answer: Sitting after a brazilian buttock lift procedure In order to preserve the majority of volume after a fat transfer, patients should avoid direct sitting for three to four weeks after surgery. Beyond that, there is no harm to your fat cells in the buttock by sitting (long term). You will basically see your results by about the three month mark post surgery. Once the fat cells have established their new blood supply in the buttock area, they will behave just like fat cells anywhere else in your body. Consult with a few plastic surgeons for a detailed exam to determine if you are a good candidate.Best wishes,Dr.Bruno

Answer: Prolonged sitting I personally do not put restrictions on my patients sitting once they are months past the fat transfer. Once the fat has taken and has a healthy blood supply, it should be just like native fat in that area, which is not affected by prolonged sitting. I hope this helps in your decision making process. Good luck.

Answer: Does sitting down after a fat transfer affect your results? Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. Sitting months after surgery should no affect your results. Each doctor has their own protocol. It is very important that you talk to him about your concerns and goals. I recommend my patients not to sit for more than 30 mins. every two hours, for the first 2 weeks, and always with the help of a boppy pillow. If you have any concerns, I suggest you follow up close with your plastic surgeon. Hope this is helpful. Good luck :)

Answer: Brazilian Butt Lift Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Brazilian Butt Lift! Following the procedure, the patient will need to allow at least 2 weeks for full recovery. Patients should not sit for prolonged periods of time for the first 2 weeks after surgery; typically, the patient can return to strenuous activities 3-6 weeks following surgery. The results will be long lasting, and possibly permanent but the patient should maintain a consistent weight, exercise regularly and keep a healthy diet to help ensure that the procedure has the best possible results over time. It is best to follow post-operative instructions as presented by your surgeon. Best wishes!

Answer: Sitting on a Brazilian We don't have good science in regards to the impact on putting pressure or movement on areas after fat transfer. We do know that in order for grafted tissues to survive they need to reestablish a blood supply within the first 10 days. friction between the grafted particles of fat and the surrounding live tissue can disrupt to ingrowth of capillaries into the grafted tissue. This process is called neovascularization and happens between the first few days and the first few weeks. once a blood supply has been established into the grafted tissue they cannot be altered by movement or pressure. I typically ask patients 12 void direct pressure or excessive movement for three weeks after the procedure. This is especially important between the third and 10th day .Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
