2 weeks post op of tummy tuck with lipo and BBL. Having pain, swelling and inflammation to one buttock of BBL. What do I do?

Im 2 weeks post op. I had a tummy tuck with lipo back and flanks along with a brazilian butt lift. I have no pain to my stomach or lipo areas. But my left buttocks is alot more painful, swollen and hot compared to the right. Im doing ibuprofen and soma. It doesnt seem to provide enough relief. My surgeon said its normal, and i have asymmetrical swelling which will heal. I'm so miserable and the pain is just getting to me. What else can i do? Do i need a 2nd opinion?

Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. At this point, 2 weeks post op, is normal to have swelling.To reduce it, I recommend you perform daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the abdomen and wear a postoperative girdle from thigh to the breasts.If the after six months post-op, I recommend you send us your photos again, to give you more information about how we can solve this problem.Respectfully, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol.-

Thanks for the question and provided information as well.
You are still early in the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation, discomfort and irregularities are normal.
If you have any concerns, please follow up close with your plastic surgeon.

If you are having severe p ain in one buttock more than the other and it is red and warm, you might have an infection or fat necrosis. Best to see  you surgeon.

If you are having significant asymmetrical pain, swelling and inflammation in one buttock, this may be a sign of a hematoma or infection.  First, I would check back with your surgeon, and if you are not getting the answers to your concerns, yes, get a second opinion.  If you go to an ER or urgent care center they may be able to get a white blood cell count (which could indicate if there is an infection) or an ultrasound (which could detect a hematoma or abscess).
