Do silicone implants feel the same as natural breasts to the touch?

I personally feel that silicone gel implants feel more natural than saline implants (including the ideal implant).The Allergan Inspira line has 3 levels of cohesiveness, the softest being the Responsive implant.  This implant approximates natural breast tissue best.

Hello,No implants, silicone, saline, or highly cohesive silicone, feel like breast tissue. Fat grafts do, so if you are a candidate for liposuction, that may be an option. However, you need to know that an A cup to D cup transition is rarely recommended due to the high risk of complications and re-operations. Go visit a few ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeons who specialize in cosmetic breast surgery. Best of luck!

Often saline or silicone is a personal preference, though most women
who choose a silicone breast augmentation feel the silicone implants
feel and look like natural breast tissue.Women with moderately sized breasts who wish to enlarge their cup
size would not see much significant difference between saline and
silicone implants. However, women with minimal breast tissue and wish
for much larger breasts will attain a more natural feel and have a lower
chance of rippling (the rippling of the breast implant surface that may
be see and/or felt), with silicone gel implants. Bottom line, most
women who choose a silicone breast augmentation think the silicone
implants feel and look like natural breast tissue, where women who
choose saline tend to have rounder breasts and often compare the feel to
that of water balloons.

Hello,Thank you for your question.Silicone implants tend to have a more natural feel and show less visible rippling when placed in the subglandular plane.Saline tend to have a slightly less natural feel and may show more rippling if placed in a subglandular plane in patients with thin skin and little natural breast tissue.Schedule a personal consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. 

Silicone breast implants will feel as close to breast tissue as any other implant, Saline or Ideal Implant.  There are also several different cohesive styles of implants to choose from with the Allergan line.  What I am referring to is the Responsive, Soft Touch and Cohesive lines.  The responsive is softest and the Cohesive is the most firm silicone implants made.  The Soft Touch is relatively the newer implant and is a happy medium between the two.I would recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon to go over your options.  At the consultant make sure you get to feel the Responsive, Soft Touch and Cohesive.Hope that helps.

The pros of saline implants are that they do not require as large of an incision as silicone, less expensive, they have less incidence of capsular contracture (scarring around the implant), one can tell immediately if there is a rupture, the size can be slightly adjusted, and they can be used for women less than 22 years of age.Breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. Going from an A cup to a D cup you will probably feel the implants. Use silicone implants to get the most natural feel.. If it can be placed under your muscle it may feel more natural. See a board certified plastic surgeon in consultation. Good luck...

One of the benefits of silicone implants is that they feel more like natural breast tissue than saline implants which feel like what they are: a bag of water. The more natural breast tissue you have the less likely you are to feel the implant. Visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you. Most will have sample implants so you can test the feel of them yourself.
