Sculptra: Is the volume growth proportion to sculptra injected? Or our body can only grow a certain amount each time.

Hello,The more vials you add, the more crystals are deposited, the more collagen is created to encapsulate the crystals. More vials, more growth. However, growth is dependent on each individual person. As a rule, most people contemplating Sculptra fear overgrowth. Reality is they don't get enough growth. If you have had 4 sessions and only used 5 vials, you are vastly under using the product. Most people who get a good response get at least 2 vials per session, and many use 4 vials per session. Remember, Sculptra is expensive! Best of luck!

Hi Nic.  Because Sculptra is diluted with saline, we wouldn't use an unlimited amount of Sculptra at one visit.  The number of vials we use at each visit is typically between 1-3 depending on how many areas we are treating and what sort of facial volume needs the patient has.  We have never injected more than three at any one office visit, but you may be the exception.  Photos would help to determine that.  
Theoretically, the larger the number of vials used, the more correction you should get.

Collagen growth will vary and some people need more than one treatment to get desired results with Sculptra. Sculptra is a great product for improving facial volume and collagen building, but for best results, I recommend using it in a combination depending on desired results. I combine Sculptra with other fillers, lasers, toxins and skin care to give immediate results. See an expert. Thanks for your question. Generally speaking, the results of Sculptra are based on how much is injected. The more vials placed the more volume the body creates in terms of collagen volume. Speak with your injector/physician about your concerns and don't forget it takes time for your body to make collagen. In general, with more Sculptra vials injected we expect to see more pronounced results, but bear in mind that medicine is not an exact science and the way your body respond to Sculptra may vary from time to time. Since Sculptra is a long acting filler and it take time for the body to build collage around it (and this process will continue for quite some time), I suggest that you continue gradually and do not rush to get way too many vials too early. Please give it time and work with your injector to get more injections later on as needed. Also, please remember that since the results of Sculptra emerge gradually and we all look at our face many times every days, it is very common to miss the improvements or think that they have been minimal. The best way to assess the results is by comparing pictures taken over time. I hope it helps and good luck!

While there are no clinical trials that I am aware of that specifically address this question, most of us believe the more you inject, the greater the response.  Having said that, it may be quite uncomfortable to inject that much volume in just your temples.  Some people do seem to have a more vigorous response than others.  If you are not getting the results that you desire, you may want to discuss the use of more traditional fillers in the temples or even surgical fat grafting.

If you are seeing some improvement, but feel that you require additional treatment, it would be best to continue to add the smaller amount, 1vial each session and allow 6-8 weeks between sessions to see the improvement. The temple region can be a challenging area to correct properly and placing 3 vials all at once may lead to less predictable results. Be patient and allow the product to naturally build collagen naturally. Best of luck.
