Congratulations!I use this same technique to enhance the results of the buttock lift and tighten the skin. With the Sculptra causing collagen to deposited inside the tissues and microneedling tightening the skin on the outside, then the results are enhanced. We offer this as a package in our office along with PRP.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO
Skin is composed of several layers and therefore improving it often takes more than one kind of therapy. Sculptra and microneedling are a great combination. The Sculptra is injected deeply right below your dermis, where it stimulates the production of new collagen to support the skin. Microneedling also creates new collagen and tightens the skin, but it improves the surface (epidermis and upper dermis) more than the deeper layers. The combination is synergetic and gives really lovely results. With that said, I recommend that you complete your Sculptra series before getting microneedling to get the full effects of that treatment. Sculptra is generally performed in a series of three for most patients and you may be so pleased with the results, you won’t feel the need for microneedling. You could save that treatment for maintenance treatment 3 or 4 months later. Please find a board-certified dermatologist to administer your rejuvenations.
Thank you for your question. Microneedling is often used to help enhance the results of Sculptra treatment. It will in no way negatively impact your Sculptra results. Sculptra is placed deep into the dermis as microneedling only affects the epidermis (top layer of skin). I recommend discussing your concerns with your injector. Best of Luck!
Skin has different layers, and these two therapies each treat a separate layer: Sculptra is injected into the dermis, microneedling is performed on the epidermis. A board-certified dermatologist will be able to give you all of the therapies you need to create the most beautiful and natural-looking rejuvenation.
Thank you for your question. There should not be a problem with doing a microneedling procedure following your Sculptra injections. I would probably wait at least 4 weeks following your Sculptra injections. Microneedling creates an injury to the skin which promotes new collagen formation as part of the healing process. It should further enhance the results of your Sculptra injections by improving the texture of the skin. I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
Hi ritaelmore, Although both treatments induce collagen formation, these are done in different planes of the skin. Sculptra is injected more deeply and has no effect on skin tightening and suppleness. These are complementary procedures and can even be done in one treatment date. Do Sculptra first as skin is sensitive after microneedling. All the best, Justin Harper, M.D.
I often combine filler treatments such as Sculptra injections with micro-needling as a “global approach” to facial rejuvenation. First, for a more youthful appearance, I will use deeper volume fillers such as Sculptra or Radiesse to restore lost volume to the face. Then I will use superficial wrinkle fillers such as Restylane or Belotero to improve the more superficial wrinkle lines. Then a series of micro-needling treatments is done using the ProCell Therapies system which combines motorized micro-needling with concentrated human growth factor serums made from human stem cells. Our patients then continue to use ProCell's growth factor serums at home after their office treatment to help maintain their results.
Sculptra is a wonderful volumizer of the face and it works by stimulating your own cells to produce more collagen. If you develop keloids with every kind of trauma, the risk would be that your body would overreact and produce too much collagen in response to Sculptra. Many people who have ...
Thank you for your questions. Without a physical exam, it can he hard to advise you on what to do. In addition, you do not mention what areas you are treating and what goals you have. Sculpta traditionally takes 3-6 months to reach effectiveness, so I would not expect much in the way of results ...
Unfortunately, autoimmune diseases are listed as a contraindication for Sculptra. However, there are alternative options to Sculptra. Please seek a board-certified dermatologist to consult the next plan of action.
