Half of my face after Sculptra injection is still swollen, it does not subside. Could this be permanent?

sculptra 1/6th of a vial was injected on each cheeks. one cheek looks good, meaning no swelling. the other cheek swell immediately after lidocaine. lidocaine effects subsided but swelling is still there all over half of my face 3 days after injection. redness after the injection but subsided as lidocaine wore off. no bruising. could the be permanent and if so what could it be due? if permanent how can it be treated?

This can be typical after Sculptra injections. Swelling will take 1-2 weeks to resolve.  You can get RF treatments like venus legacy or thermi 250 to give improvement. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer.

At only three days post injection, any swelling or asymmetry that you see is almost certainly related to the lidocaine and secondary edema from the injection.  One's face swelling does not always resolve symmetrically. One side will usually be a little different from the other with regards to swelling from any filler. While it can be disconcerting to see your face so different from side to side, try not to worry at this point because the sculptra has not had time to stimulate collagen yet and you will not see your final results for 6-8 weeks. Be patient and good luck.

Any swelling that is present within the first week or so after a Sculptra treatment is due to the water that is injected with the Sculptra and swelling that occurs as a result of the trauma of the injection.  The results from the stimulation of Sculptra are not seen for at least a month after the procedure.  What you see in the first week is not necessarily indicative of what your final results will be.

The swelling or asymmetry you see is just on account of the fluid injected or a local reaction at the site of injection. Sculptra effects are appreciable 45-60 days post injection.
