I had my first Sculptra injections 6 weeks ago and am not seeing any result whatsoever. I have another appointment for Sculptra scheduled in 3 weeks - is it worth taking the chance that this second round will yield results? I have low body fat, so perhaps fat transfer would be a better option to save for?
Answer: Should I continue with Sculptra after not seeing any result whatsoever after 6 weeks? Thank you for your questions. Without a physical exam, it can he hard to advise you on what to do. In addition, you do not mention what areas you are treating and what goals you have. Sculpta traditionally takes 3-6 months to reach effectiveness, so I would not expect much in the way of results at 6 weeks. However, I would not proceed with additional treatments until you are sure you are getting the results you want. I would hold off until you are more confident about what you want to do and make sure you are seeing a plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.Good luck!

CONTACT NOW Answer: Try Sculptra again.... Thanks for your question.I think you should address your concerns with your injector. It matters what your age is, the level of volume loss and the areas treated. Sculptra is bio-stimulatory and creates collagen overtime. I suggest you speak to your injector about healthy habits to produce collagen (avoid smoking, taking certain supplements) and possibly combine PRP to help more collagen form. Best wishes, Dr. ALDO

Answer: No results seen 6 weeks after Sculptra Depending on the severity of the loss of volume prior to Sculptra treatment, it is possible that you would not notice much difference after one treatment session. Scuptra is a stimulating agent, so it works very gradually and normally requires a series of treatments to obtain the desired result. It is a bit difficult to give you the best advice without examining you or seeing pictures of you before and after the treatment. I normally would recommend continuing with the treatment, as each treatment usually provides more benefit than prior injections sessions.

Answer: Sculptra results Thank you for your question. You did not mention your age, degree of volume loss, or number of vials of Sculptra injected. Sculptra is a bio-stimulator that increases your body's production of collagen. It often takes two sets of injections to see meaningful results. As a "general rule" most patients require one vial of Sculptra per decade of life. This can equate to 4-8 vials depending on the age and degree of volume loss experienced by the patient. The results can initially be subtle and gradual so it is important that pictures be taken in the office before beginning the injections. We often have patients who look in the mirror every day and do not see the changes occurring but once they see their pictures the results are much more evident to them.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
