Scar tissue bump, inner upper lip - can I dissolve this with Kenalog? (photos)

Question

Fat transfer from abdomen to upper lip was in 2005 I noticed scar tissue lumps within the year but left it alone. I want to finally take care of this now but don’t know how to best go about fixing my lips. Would kenalog work for this? As you can see, it looks like it migrated a bit and you can see the bumps. I would be interested in dissolving what I can and doing fillers later, such as Restalyne Kysse, but need my lips to be “back to normal” so I don’t keep masking the problem!

there is no way to treat this but injections or surgery. I suggest seeing an expert, I am doing alot more surgical removal of this lately. Use emeragecosmetics lip pulmping and hydration for now to keep your lips looking their best. Best, Dr. Emer.

It looks like you have an area of fat necrosis. This will not be dissolved with anti-inflammatory steroids. Direct surgical excision is probably your best option.

Consider a little more emphasis on the lower lip next time.

Most people naturally have a lower lip that’s larger than the upper lip.

I don’t think Kenalog is going to do much for you.
