Hi I plan to have chin lipo done *I won't be using general anesthesia * I do take adderall for my ADHD along with prescription medication for chronic migraines (both are low doses) How long before surgery will I need to stop? Or will it be if an importantance

Answer: They need to stop medications If you were my patient, I would have you continue your medications as usual.I would not want to see you have headaches or mood changes after your surgery.We generally ask patients to avoid using ibuprofen, aspirin, Aleve, etc., prior to surgery.You should definitely review these types of medical questions with your surgeon.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.

Answer: Avoid aspirin, NSAIDs Some migraine medications are OK to take before surgery and some are not. Fiorinol contains aspirin, which can cause excess bruising. Medications containing NSAIDs such as ibuprofen and naproxen can also cause excess bruising. I would not expect Imitrex or Adderall to be a problem. It's best to check with your doctor to see what he/she recommends.
