I had another amazing experience with Dr. Derby. She was very thorough about what to expect and informative about which size would be best for my size and frame. She didn't just let me say I want a certain size and go with it, she made sure it was the best size. Not too small, not too large, and the right shape. Very professional, polite, and friendly, staff included. The hospital she does her procedures at was of the same quality and standards I've come to know with Dr. Derby and her staff. My healing process is right on track and everything is looking great. I'm so glad to be able to have finally gotten my breast augmentation done after 4 children, and weight loss (60+lbs). For my surgery she went under the breast for the incision and the implant was placed under the muscle. 520cc silicone, round. Updated on 12 Dec 2020: I am at my 10 week mark, and I must say that my implants just keep getting better. And I grow more and more comfortable and confident. I am so happy with my results so far. I'm just very impatient for them to settle fully haha. So it's hard to not knit pick the little flaws, because I know I still have a ways to go.
Dr. Derby is lovely! I’ve had three children and felt insecure about my stomach, specifically my belly button area. I had some loose skin, stretch marks, and belly button piercing scars just right above my belly button, and she didn’t try to talk me into an expensive or extensive surgery; instead, she performed a minor procedure that was inexpensive, and it made a world of difference! I feel like I’ll be able to wear a bikini again!
I had breast reduction in January of 2017. Dr. Derby is very professional and yet very relatable. All around great experience. She and her staff always ran on time, if not early. I am very pleased with the results.
I had breast reconstruction 8 years after a mastectomy. Dr. Derby was amazing, very professional, experienced and caring. She explained all of my options to me and listened to what I wanted. I am very happy with the results.
I interviewed 5 doctors before deciding on Dr. Derby. She spent real time with me discussing my options and in the process also helped me to understand what it was I really wanted to achieve. Her staff is simply Phenomenal.
Lynn Derby was amazing!! I’m so pleased! Her staff is so sweet and they all were so excited for me and with me!! I can’t wait til my swelling goes down tonsee my new tiny tummy!! I had 7.5 lbs of skin removed!
I found the whole experience was treated with sensitivity and a professional attitude . . I would highly recommend Dr. Derby and her staff.. I'm considering going bigger because s it feels good to have bigger breast.
Dr Derby and her staff was Amazing! Very professional, and very understanding ,with me and all my questions. The procedure went without a hitch. I am very HAPPY with the outcome! What a great doctor Lynn is.
Dr Derby and her staff are the cunsumate professionals. No question was left unanswered, no concern was left untouched. My results were better than I ever could have imagined. Her staff is wonderful. Dr Derby is truly an excellent surgeon and caring person.
At my biggest loss, I was down 100 pounds, but has never achieved abs I was happy with. It didn't seem to matter how many crunches I did. I went for several consultations, and the best I received was Dr. Derby. She showed me what had happened to my abdominal muscles and was very real with me. I'm self conscious and she made me feel completely comfortable with the procedure. Updated on 22 Jan 2017: I'm just over 5 weeks post op and feeling great overall. Just after surgery, I found out I was allergic to neosporin thanks to a rash on my belly button. So, last week, when one of my incision spots seemed irritated, I used bacitracin instead and turns out, I'm allergic to it too. Thankfully, Doctor Derby got me in quickly....She first made sure my file was updated correctly. She then got everything cleaned up, found two stitches that had not dissolved so pulled them out, and put me back together again. A few days after that and I am now healing pretty well. It feels great to go back and look at my pictures from pre-op and how every week is a little bit different. Next week, I get to remove this binder and start working out again....I cannot wait.
A lump of fat necrosis might or might not go away on its own. It is safe to leave it alone as long as it is not causing symptoms (such as pain or tenderness), and is not interfering with breast cancer screening (breast exams and mammograms). If it is symptomatic, needle aspiration and/or excision could be needed. The necrotic fat sometimes breaks down to form a cyst full of oil, which could be aspirated out with a needle. If it has become more solid scar tissue, it could be excised surgically.
It is very hard to tell without an in-person examination, but from the shininess of your skin in your after photos, it looks like you still have quite a bit of swelling. It is still too early to make a judgment on whether you will need a revision surgery.
An in-person examination and preop photos would be needed to be sure of how you are doing, but the swelling in your photos appears within the limits of normal. From your photos it looks like you have redhead skin type, which typically stays swollen and pink for longer than most other skin types. Sore, tired feeling eyes could be due to dryness, since swollen, stiff eyelids sometimes don't blink very effectively to lubricate your eyes. It's probably best for you to contact your surgeon with your questions, since he or she knows more about your individual surgery than any of us in this forum.
At two weeks postop, you could be feeling an air bubble (which will absorb away on its own), the edge of the implant, the implant valve (if you have saline implants), one of your usual breast cysts (which could have changed position from surgery), a new breast cyst (which can form at any time), or a knot of suture. More details about your surgery and probably an in-person examination would be needed to determine what it is.
It's hard to say without an in-person exam, or at least photos showing your whole face at rest and while smiling, but from your description and photos, a portion of your orbicularis oculi muscle (the muscle that you use to close your eyes and to squint) might be overactive in the area under the lateral right eyebrow, causing it to pull up, or even to dimple when you smile or squint. Not only have I seen this before, I actually have it in my left eyebrow, too. It's just part of the range of normal variations in human expression, but it can be frustrating if you don't like it. For me, 4 units of Botox, 2-3 times per year does the trick.
