I'm very unhappy with the shape of my face. My chin is very long and weak and I am unhappy with the lack of symmetry my face has. I see so many beautiful structures faces like Kim k and Megan fox. My confidence has been very low my whole life and I have always felt my face is too masculine. When trying to research a surgeon I don't really know what to look for. I'm very confused and need a professionals opinion and what I should be researching.
Answer: Jaw reshaping There are a variety of techniques that can be used to correct facial asymmetry and also give the appearance of a more defined jaw line. A more temporary approach includes dermal fillers (e.g., Sculptra, Voluma, and Radiesse), while fat grafting, Use of permanent fillers (Aquamid, Bellafill ) and facial implants would offer a more permanent solution. A sliding genioplasty is a procedure that I feel gives a rather blocky, unrefined look in a number of cases. To address your concerns I would recommend having an in person consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in facial aesthetics and contouring.

Answer: Facial Sculpting with Fillers (voluma, restylane) Sculptra, implants and fat I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to go over your desired results. Well-placed fillers (Voluma, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra can improve facial symmetry and provide volume where needed. Implants or fat would be permanent solutions. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Jawline Reshaping While you can not reduce/reshape your jawline to look like your ideal goals, you can make significant improvements. You can only be effectively treated byV Line jaw reshaping surgery consisting of a t-shaped chin osteotomy to narrow, vertically shorten and bring it forward. This would need to be combined with small vertical lengthening jaw angle implants. Together this would make for a more v-shaped and feminine jawline.

Answer: Implants Thank you for posting your questions. Everyone's face is a little bit asymmetrical by nature, but implants may help giving you the definition and augmentation you desire. Implants are made out of a variety of FDA approved materials which have been safely used for many years. These materials are well tolerated, are permanent and do not elicit a reaction from the body. I would recommend meeting with an experienced physician in-person to determine what treatment option may be the best for you. Best of luck.

Answer: Fat Transfer and Assymetrical Jawline This is a very good question. There are many solutions for this, however I believe that fat transfer is the best solution for hits problem. I have been using fat transfer to the jaw rather than implants for a very long time. Fat transfer can give an excellent result and permanent result. By utilizing fat transfer, the shape can be tailored to your jawline and chin. If a patient has a chin implant already in place, the shape can be altered leaving the implant in place. Fat placement can create a 3 dimensional shape to the chin and jawline with giving projection in every direction needed. This includes anterior, forward, and inferior. Also, if a chin implant is mal positioned and the shape is off, this can be re-shaped and camouflaged with precise placement of fat to augment the chin shape. I feel this is a far better procedure for chin augmentation than an implant. Good Luck with your search.
