Does having a hair transplant = Increased self-worth?

MAW99
I'm a (close to 50) male who has long suffered from hair loss (since my late 20s). It's been a sore subject for me for a long time. I've read all kinds of posts online from people saying how their transplants changed their outlooks on life and their feelings of self-worth. I know I sound like a cynic but does a hair transplant magically change your self-image that much? Don't get me wrong. I'd love to see my head full of hair again yet I'm wondering how much it will do for me besides change my appearance.
