Uneven growth, 10 months post-op. Is it normal?

I'm 10 months in a transplant. One of my sides has more hair than the other. I had my surgery done by a reputable doctor with 10 years experience. Am wondering whether uneven growth is normal and whether my uneven side should even up with the other ? Thxs

Do not expect an even growth after your hair transplantation as all hair are not at the same stage of their life cycle.After the transplantation it may take months to have an even performance.

It is always a good idea to follow up with your doctor for a recheck and let the doctor know about your concerns. Doctors are human and despite their experience or reputation they can make mistakes.  Surgical results are not always perfect and sometimes one side can grow less than the other.  Finally, the result of a hair transplant surgery can take 6 to 12 months to fully appreciate. (some times longer).

The hair transplant result isn't 100% perfect and, yes, it might be uneven but shouldn't be so significantly. However, it's just 10 months and you might need 2-8 more months for the transplanted hair to fully grow. If you're concerned about this, you should see your surgeon to find out how to improve the result.

Of course without seeing the level of uneven growth it is not easy to say exactly what is going on but you should keep in mind that even on the 15 months post op you may still have new growth.On the other hand yes there might be a mistake during the insertion of the grafts and one side has not been properly sticked.( which is not a high probability with a reputable doc) Anyway please see your doctor and ask for his opinion.

I always advise patients to go back to their doctor. Since I care about my results, if anything went wrong of did not meet my patient's satisfaction, I want to know first hand from that patient. Give your doctor that courtesy.

Since each hair has its own intrinsic hair cycle, after hair transplant it will grow in depending on which stage of the cycle it is at.  Therefore, there will be uneven hair growth until all the hair grows in.  It usually takes up to 18 months for all the hair to grow in.  However, you should keep in touch with your doctor to monitor the progress of hair growth.
