I just had a bbl 4 days ago. I went with a good surgeon and I have asked him this question. But I need a second opinion as well. I’m 5’8 and weight was 175 before surgery. I had a V shape (I think). I went in for a bbl and came out looking flat. 1020ccs were injected in each cheek. Is there something I did wrong? I have not been sitting or lying on my backside.
Answer: Why am I still flat after a BBL? Thank you for your question and photos. Based on your preop photo, you have a square shaped buttocks. A BBL is a technical and artistic operation. You will look best at the end of surgery, and then swelling develops. At 4 days, the swelling is not at its maximum, that will happen by the third week. After that, swelling will improve and final results will not be evident for 4-6 months.I believe that shaping and enhancing the buttocks is the artistic part of the operation. If one places too much fat and the buttocks become very firm, you will end up loosing more fat (too much fat plus swelling can lead to fat necrosis). You do show a lot of echymosis or bruising which is associated with more inflammation and swelling and increased fat death. Can’t judge the body sculpting aspect of your surgery from one side view photo. If the sculpting is suboptimal, will affect the BBL outcome and hourglass figure. Be patient, follow your surgeon’s advice. Your results will show between 2-4 months or longer. Good luck with your healing.

Answer: Brazilian Butt Lift About 60% of fat from the transfer is retained and the results are permanent. The size will change with your weight just as the rest of your body does. In other words, the fat acts like it was naturally there. You can get a good idea of the final result after 6 months.

Answer: Flat after BBL There are many factors that go into your final results after a BBL. These include the elasticity of your skin, the amount of fat, the location of the fat being grafted, the compliance with post-operative instructions (ie no sitting), the percentage of fat being absorbed by your body. All these factors will have a role in the final outcome over the course of the first 3-4 months. It is too early to determine your final result at this time. Have some patience and follow your surgeon's post-op instructions. S. A. Earle, MD, FACS

Answer: BBL results Dear MissM83,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a BBL surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process at 4 days post op.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Why am I still flat after my BBL? (Photos) Too early to judge on the final result. You are still at the healing stage. The area in your lower back will be still bruised and swollen and this will take 8-12 weeks to settle. Wear your garment and keep your follow up with your surgeon.
