It has been 8 months since my lipo and I was left with these lumps and uneven sides. I think the lumps are due to scar tissue correct me if I'm wrong . What is it that I should do to correct this ? Will a second lipo help this ?
Answer: Uneven Sides & Lumps On My Stomach 8 Months After BBL - Will This Correct Itself? The short answer to your question is NO. After 8 months, you more than likely have a combination of scar tissue and uneven fat removal. If you were my patient, I would recommend the use of a blank canula, that is a canula with no opening at the end. This can very efficiently be used to break up scar tissue and redistribute any fat present. Once this aggressive redistribution of fat and disruption of scar tissue occurs, I would put you into a girdle with even distribution of pressure. Very often, I place Reston foam in the girdle to assist in this fatty redistribution. The pressure also inhibits new scar tissue from forming. After 24 hours in the girdle and after a cool shower, I have my patients use DMSO every 4 hours to open choke vessels (a redundant blood supply everywhere in the body). This will increase the number of white blood cells in any given area to help take away injured fat cells as well as injured scar tissue. After 3 days of this regiment, I highly recommend ultrasound (the kind physical therapists use for sore muscles) to continue the leveling out of both free fat cells and old scar tissue which helps eliminate the elevations and depressions that made up the previously unwanted lumps. Obviously, each plastic surgeon has his or her own paradigm for how to treat the uneven surface sometimes seen after liposuction. I recommend you contact your personal plastic surgeon for a consultation on this subject.

Answer: Uneven after liposuction Dear Luuhuuu,I would have to examine you but it appears that this is a contour irregularity after liposuction. While there is always a chance for contour irregularities with liposuction, someone who takes their time and uses the appropriate sized cannulas should give you a superb result.I have all my patients wear compression garments and I use multiple sized cannulas to feather out the result. The good news is that it can be fixed and I have done so with good results before. The revision can often be done under local as well.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Uneven sides and lumps on my stomach 8 months after BBL! Will this correct itself? Surface irregularities or "lumps and bumps" are actually a known and common entity after aggressive liposuction that is done to create the hourglass for a BBL. These can be due to scar tissue, too aggressive lipo, not aggressive enough lipo, loose skin etc. Depending on what is causing your irregularities will change the plan. If it is scar tissue massaging can help even things down. More liposuction can actually make scar tissue worse. If it is due to not enough lipo, more lipo to the bumps can help. If it is due to too much lipo, fat grafting can help. If you have a component of loose skin, then what you need is a tummy tuck or mini tummy tuck to pull the skin down and smooth things out.
