The short answer to your question is NO. After 8 months, you more than likely have a combination of scar tissue and uneven fat removal. If you were my patient, I would recommend the use of a blank canula, that is a canula with no opening at the end. This can very efficiently be used to break up scar tissue and redistribute any fat present. Once this aggressive redistribution of fat and disruption of scar tissue occurs, I would put you into a girdle with even distribution of pressure. Very often, I place Reston foam in the girdle to assist in this fatty redistribution. The pressure also inhibits new scar tissue from forming. After 24 hours in the girdle and after a cool shower, I have my patients use DMSO every 4 hours to open choke vessels (a redundant blood supply everywhere in the body). This will increase the number of white blood cells in any given area to help take away injured fat cells as well as injured scar tissue. After 3 days of this regiment, I highly recommend ultrasound (the kind physical therapists use for sore muscles) to continue the leveling out of both free fat cells and old scar tissue which helps eliminate the elevations and depressions that made up the previously unwanted lumps. Obviously, each plastic surgeon has his or her own paradigm for how to treat the uneven surface sometimes seen after liposuction. I recommend you contact your personal plastic surgeon for a consultation on this subject.
