I have tried medphore and silicone chin implants, but wasnt happy with the results as it made my jaw look wider, and thats what Im trying to avoid. I got the last one removed, and ive had hyaluronic fillers in the bottom of the chin ever since. I get it done every 12-18 months (1 ml), but I want something more lasting, and have been thinking about getting fat injections instead. Would that be a good option? I just want some more volume in bottom of the chin so it get the more "pointy look".
Answer: Chin augmentation for a more pointy chin? Chin augmentation for a more pointy chin? Having done fat augmentation for 35 years I can tell you from experience to stay with REVERSIBLE fillers that last 2 years like Volume and Radiesse done by a skilled injector.

Answer: Chin Augmentation -- Radiesse, Restylane Lyft, Juvederm Voluma, Fat, Sculptra Fat does well here but I find that fillers like radiesse or voluma help to give you more ability to truly contour. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Fat transfers are an option for you Hi Kamilla,You can consider fat transfer or grafting to build up your chin. This involves taking the fat from harvesting sites in your body (e.g., abdomen, thighs and hips), processing it and eventually injecting it into the desired body part, in your case, the chin. Fat processing is simply separating fat cells from the fat fluid that’s been extracted. This option is popular because of its non-invasive nature. Most adults are good candidates for this procedure, as long as they are in good health and have enough fat to harvest. Prep work is fairly simple: you will be given local anaesthesia and the harvesting site will be numbed as well. Fat is then harvested from the areas mentioned above, processed and eventually injected into the chin. You will need a pain reliever for 1-2 days, and should avoid strenuous activity or massaging of the chin for at least a week. Swelling will subside after about 2 to 4 weeks. Expect some bruising at both the harvest and injection sites.

Answer: Fat and Filler Augmentation of the Chin Fat can be used to augment the chin but it is somewhat unpredictable since to be able to maintain the fullness it has to survive and persist in its new location. Moreover, fat being fat, if you gain weight, the increase in volume will be seen in ALL fat cells including those in your chin. With a history of MedPor and Silicone implants followed by Hyaluronic fillers, the chin areas is definitely scarred with no reliable blood supply. This may make fat survival very unpredictable, So as long as you understand and accept that fat grafting may be a failure in your case you can certainly try it. Personally, I would use Radiesse which the optimal filler for this area and it outlasts HA fillers.Consult with your plastic surgeon.Good LuckPeter Aldea MD

Answer: Chin augmentation Chin augmentation with filler should use a firm filler as the chin needs to be firm and not soft and smushy as it would be if you had fat transfer. Please note that Radiesse is a great alternative to hyaluronic fillers as it is firmer and lasts longer (upto 2 years).
